Modern Era: Falling

I was running and running through a seemingly endless tunnel. Dont ask me why, i wont be able to answer the question, since i didnt know the answer myself. The tunnel was pitch black...so dark.

Fortunately i had a torch with me. The white rays from the torch were only enough to light up the small region near my feet.

My body was aching due to bruises here and there on my hands, face, legs...... I didnt know what made me stop and look behind me, but when i did, i was shocked to see a trail of blood extending into the darkness...

As i followed the trail, my eyes went up to the big gash on the right side of my waist. I slowly and softly touched it, and winced at the wave of pain which rushed over me. "It.......hurts.....", i managed to gasp out through deep breaths.

I had to get out of this freaking place. I started running again.

Far away, I felt I saw a speck of light. "It must be the outlet for this passage-way", I thought eagerly, "or, maybe its my imagination...?", I felt my hopes slowly start to shatter, but I tried being optimistic, "Okay Emi, be calm, dont worry, there has to be a way out. And I will find it by any chance".

I started running faster. As the light became nearer to me, i knew that it wasnt my imagination. I had finally found the outlet!!!! I jumped in joy, despite the pain.

In mirth and happiness, i jumped out of the tunnel, which was so stupid of me.

But.

Instead of landing on a surface, which i expected, i found myself falling.

Wait...what? Falling???

Oh My God! I WAS FALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, the thought occured to me a few seconds later. "Heeeellllllppppppppp!!! Someone! Help meeeee!!", I cried. But all in vain. I looked up to see the cliff becoming smaller and smaller....further away from me. I realised, my end had come.......

I had to die this way? In a helpless state? What had i done to have God make me suffer soo much?

With these as my last thoughts, i fainted.
