The Life of a Sea Turtle
By: A vis. cogirl
Do you know how many sea turtles actually survive until adulthood? Sadly, only 1 or 2 will survive. Let me explain the challenging life of a sea turtle.
Let's first talk about the beginning of the sea turtle's life. First, the sea turtle has to hatch from a nest of up to 100 other eggs. Next, the newborn sea turtle must quickly get into the water without becoming breakfast for a crab or seabird. Finally, it's in the water.
Now we'll be talking about the middle of a sea turtle's life. According to the text, "She is as big as a seabird and most of the fish." That's only after one year! There are many predators that may eat it. There's also lots of foods it eats including seaweed.
Finally, we're at the last bit of this endangered creature's life. After it gets old enough to lay eggs it starts heading back to where it was born to lay the eggs. It wouldn't take it very long because they swim 4x faster than a human! They are now 300 pounds at the adult stage. The reason why they go to to the beach they hatched from is so that they can lay their eggs. Then they head back to the ocean.
