Adrien POV:
As we sailed to the shore, I checked behind us, looking for Hawkmoth's ship. I was expecting to see it a ways off, but the vast ship was right behind us.
I tried to warn Marinette, but she was focused on a rock covered in seaweed.
I ran to her and grabbed her shoulder. She snapped back to attention and turned to me.
"My parents are here. They're still here. Alive." She said
I was going to ask her how she knew, but she looked past me and saw Hawkmoth's ship.
"Come on!" She yelled
Then she ran to the side of the ship and jumped.
I ran after her, and saw that she was swimming. How did she know how to swim?
I looked at her crew mates, and they were jumping off and swimming too.
I grabbed a rowboat and helped my men to shore, where we ran to catch up with the girls. Not only could they swim, but they could swim FAST.
We ran through the jungle, trying to follow Marinette, but I could barely even see Mylenne, who was somehow faster than my men, despite her shortness.
I followed them to a stone wall with inscriptions on it. I couldn't read them if I tried, and I tried.
Marinette hardly seemed phased. She was running her fingers along the sides, murmuring to herself.
She pressed against a stone, and the wall shuddered. Blocks sank into the wall, and Marinette started climbing. Her crew was behind her, and mine behind them.
I could hear Hawkmoth's crew come through the forest, and just as Ivan had gotten up, Marinette pressed another stone, causing the stones to go back into place.
"Get down!" She whisper-shouted to us, and as we all got down, we heard the akumas go right past us.
We waited a minute or two before Marinette looked around to see if any were around. They had apparently gone right past us and paid the giant rock no attention.
Marinette ran her fingers along the writings written on the top where we were standing. She kept muttering the translations to herself, but when I tried to follow her, she held up her hand.
"These people are CRAZY in love with traps and puzzles. One wrong move and you could send us across the island." She said
I held up my hands and went back to the wall. Alya was starting to go along the same path, and I noticed that they were both muttering steps, directions, and coordinates.
"Why does Alya get to go?" Kim complained
"Because she's the only other one who understands the language, other than me." Marinette replied, not looking up from the inscriptions.
Suddenly, Marinette came to a halt
"Alya, I found it." She said
As Alya made her way over to Marinette, We all stood in place, frozen like popsicles. When Alya got to Marinette, they both whispered to each other, then Marinette started to turn knobs around. I couldn't see much, but I could tell they were putting some sort of map together.
I didn't know what the map was, but when Marinette and Alya finished, there was a rumbling below us.
"Brace yourselves! We're about to get in!" Marinette said
I only had time to process what she said when the floor opened and we were sucked in. I looked up as we were falling and saw the opening close back up, sealing us in.
