Marinette POV:
As the boats went into the rapids, which really weren't that bad, Adrien was screaming the whole time. I laughed at the look on his face when we were in there. I wish I had a painting of it to put in a museum.
As we drew her to the end of the rapids, I saw the beach of the center island. The final stage. As we got closer, I saw another boat. One made with much more quality to it. My parents always did have to show off, didn't they?
Adrien had almost passed out by the time we were out, but we didn't have any damage to my makeshift boat. The current carried us to the shore, and we were on the beach in no time. The rest of the crew didn't have any difficulties, except for Ivan and Mylenne. Ivan was shaking really hard and clinging to the tiny Mylenne, who was carrying him, bridal style onto the beach.
I couldn't hold my small laugh back. After all, Ivan was about 3 or 4 times the size of Mylenne, but she didn't mind carrying him at all. All that weight training with my crew had paid off again.
I turned around and walked past the grassy fields. Unlike the jungle before, this land was mostly a plain field with a small, easy hill leading up to a sort of a temple. Despite the island, the temple was pretty big, and we didn't have to go too far.
When I stepped onto the stone of the temple, I knew there was an obstacles course of traps, which led to certain death.
"Alright. No off switch, so follow in my exact footsteps if you want to live." I said as calmly as I could
I could hear the crew behind me take a collective mini gasp. Honestly, what did they expect? I huge diamond chest with the miraculous without any trouble at all to get them?
I slowly made my way across, and the others followed in exact sync. I made it to the patterned floor with stones engraved with diamonds, spots, paw prints, and other animal prints. I slowly looked at them and decided on the spotted ones. These people who built these temples also worshipped animals and often built rooms in their temples to signify their adoration for them. The spotted ones seemed like the best bet since this room had a giant ladybug on the ceiling. The Ladybug signified luck and good fortune.
In the next room, it was black with hints of green. I recognized the cat's symbol on the ceiling, like the ladybug before. So I chose the paw print pattern, sign of the black cat. The people here believed in Yin-Yangs. Some good in all Evil and some Evil in all good. The Ladybug and Black cat were meant as soulmates, because, well... Opposites attract, I guess. These people were WAY into romance. Too much to be normal. They even linked a Fox to a Turtle. A TURTLE. I mean, how do you even see those two together?
The crew got past the Black Cat room and I was expecting to see the Bee room, or the Butterfly room, but we just walked right into the main room.
The main room is the Miraculous room, where there aren't any traps unless you a re unworthy of entering. In that case, the Miraculous Kamis use their powers to drive you mad and send you into the rapids without a boat.
I hoped that wasn't the case.
I looked to the ceiling, hoping for a clue, when I not only saw a pool reflection of the room, revealing the places to stand in order to summon the Kwamis, but I saw a rope ladder, leading onto a ledge.
Entranced, I walked to it and started climbing. I could hear the crew behind me, but Alya told them to stay as she told them about the room and what it meant. I heard them relax, knowing they wouldn't have to deal with any more traps in the room.
When I reached the ledge, I couldn't believe my eyes.
My parents were right there! They were asleep on a makeshift bed, with the fruits like those in the jungle growing around them.
