14| Mourning

Namjoon's POV

My hands twitched as I watched Viper slip through my fingers. I screamed my lungs out.

I screamed her name but I knew it couldn't contribute to anything. My screams wouldn't bring her back. I promised Cobra I'd get her back safe but I failed.

I looked to my right and saw a rifle that was just abandoned. I immediately took it and went mad and shot everyone at sight.

I was furious about what they did, I couldn't even feel the bullets stuck to my shoulder.

I was shooting and shooting until every single one of Nephilia's men were shot down and all who was left was Joongi and Jieun.

I stared them dead straight in the eyes and I watched as they immediately fleed and sped off in their car.

I turned to my back and saw Yoongi hyung, Jin hyung, Hoseok hyung, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook with thr most schocked look on their faces.

I dropped the rifle and weakly said, "Viper's gone, because of them."

I fell to the ground crying and cursing my life. I watched as they all dropped down in defeat and I heard Yoongi hyung say, "Where is she?"

I couldn't answer as the tears flowed furiously. He then shouted, "Where is she?! Answer me!"

I softly said, "I couldn't save her, she fell off the bridge to save me."

I then felt someone lift me up from the ground by the collar and when I looked up I was met with the eyes of an infuriated Jungkook.

"You should have saved her and you should've died instead", he said and I softly said, "I know, but her stubborn ass wouldn't let me."

His eyes softened knowing what I meant and he let go of my collar.

I looked at everyone and they all looked defeated. Hoseok hyung threw away his gun and said, "What's the point anymore when she's not here."

"There is a point, we're gonna make the motherfuckers who killed her pay for what they did", Yoongi hyung said as he clenched his fists in anger.

"Come on guys let's go back", Jin hyung said, "We have to regroup and treat our wounds."

Everyone nodded and I looked at Jimin who looked so defeated. The bright aura he held with his smile faded. Everything felt so heavy. He was the only still kneeling on the ground, not even looking up.

I kneeled on the ground and put a hand on his shoulder then he looked up and I saw his face.

His round face were stained with his tears and his eyes were red and puffy. He was crying hard as he said in between breaths, "Hyung.... I didn't even get to tell her how much she meant to me."

"Something's off", Taehyung said as I helped Jimin get up from the ground.

Taehyung then looked at Yoongi and said, "Colubrid how the hell did you get here?"

"Weren't you also kind of trapped in Nephilia with her?", he questioned further and everyone looked at Yoongi hyung.

He was like a deer in headlights as his eyes widened.

"We escapes and we planned to go back but we had an argument", He explained and Jin looked at him confused and said, "Wait so you escaped and didn't even bother to go back to VENOM?!"

"She didn't want to, and she had a reason, going back to VENOM immediately would just lead Nephilia to you guys, she wanted to protect you guys", he explained further.

"Wait, what exactly did you argue about?", Jimin said as he looked at Yoongi hyung suspiciously.

"We argued about how I made Taehyung hurt her and it made her run away and I was trying to track her down", He explained.

"Wait, how did you even get into that conversation?", I asked and he gulped.

Jungkook eyed him with rage and said, "I know that look hyung, you slept with her, didn't you?!"

Yoongi hyung shook his head hesitantly and said, "We almost did and she pretended like it never happened and so we got into the topic about how she can't trust anyone with her feelings because of what happened with her and Boa."

Taehyung sarcastically laughed and said, "She wouldn't have had those trust issues to begin with if you didn't blackmail me!"

Jimin then surprisingly shouted making everyone quiet then he said, "Well none of this matters now doesn't it?! She's dead now all because we couldn't protect her."

I shook my head and said, "It's not that we didn't protect her, she just didn't want us to."

"What the hell are you talking about Python?", Hoseok hyung said.

"She chose to protect us rather than save herself", I said firmly, "Because of her, I'm not gonna waste another damn day knowing that every day I waste is a day of Nephilia living and not our beloved Viper."

"Well said Python", Jin hyung said, "Now let's get back to base and make a plan to eradicate Nephilia, for all the fallen."

"For Taemin hyung", Jimin softly said.

"For Sunmi noona", Hoseok softly said.

Then all of us said in unison, "For Viper."

We all got in the cars that were still alive and we rode back to base. I looked at the sky and it was grey, dark clouds covered the sun and the horizon looked dead and depressing.

I sighed as I sat at the backseat and Jungkook drove for me.
I scrunched my nose and closed my eyes as I finally felt the sting of my gunshot wounds.

I held my shoulders tighter as I applied pressure on my wound, making sure I didn't bleed out.

I then heard Jungkook say, "Hyung, I'm sorry, I was a little harsh on you, she did the right thing to save you."

The ride turned silent as I took in his words and I just felt a tear roll down my cheek.

To me.

It didn't seem right for her to save me.

No one's POV

"Perfect, we got her, she's just what she needed", A woman said as she pulled a woman's soaking wet body out of the river.

The woman beside her then said, "She looks dead to me."

The woman then checked for a pulse and said, "She has a pulse, let's get her out of here and get her rehabilitated for our use."

"You sure you wanna do this boss?", the other woman asked as she brought the unconscious girl to the van.

"Oh I'm sure, she might just be exactly what we need to show VENOM and Nephilia who's the real power here", The woman said.

The other woman smirked and nodded in agreement.

The woman caressed the unconscious girl's face and said, "It's time to show South Korea who's the real boss here."
