28|The Viper and the Lotus

Somin's POV

I closed my eyes, ready to feel the bullet pierce the skin right above my heart but instead I felt a force wrap around me.

I opened my eyes and saw Namjoon clutching me tightly. My eyes widened as the force of the bullet forced him to tackle me to the ground.

I immediately held him up and took him to a corner away from the exchange of bullets.

As I moved, I looked at the scene and saw Sehun's lifeless body bleeding from the neck.

My breath hitched at the sight but I continued moving to the corner, clutching Namjoon's clothes tightly. My eyes began to water when I saw where the gunshot wound was.

I cursed under my breath.

Eventually when I reached the corner I turned Namjoon's body so he could face me and it only hurt to see the sight even more. His face was graduallt paling as he looked at me with glassy eyes.

"Pabo," I said as I felt my eyes water even more, "Aren't you supposed to be afraid of using a guns ot bullets in general?!"

He laughed lightly but consequently he ended up coughing blood. Eventually he stopped and said, "I f-failed y-you once o-on that b-bridge w-when I......let.....g-go....of....you....n-now I-I can b-be a-at p-peace that I r-red-deemed mys-self f-from t-that."

"Idiot, you never needed to redeem yourself", I said as a tear fell down my cheek, "And don't say things like that! You're not going anywhere, we're gonna get out of here and we'll get you treated."

He smiled, teeth stained with blood, "L-lying I-is not a good l-look on y-you Somin-ah."
My tears only continued to flow as I said, "I'll let you call me by my name just this once."

"S-somin, I feel c-cold," he said making me close my eyes as tears continued to flow. I already knew that at this point I had nothing I could do to help him.

So I placed a soft kiss on his forehead and said, "Thank you for everything Python, I'm gonna miss hearing you in my earpiece."

He smiled again but this time it met his eyes then he said, "I-it was a pleasure being your c-consigliere V-viper, C-cobra would be p-proud o-of y-you."

I was going to tell him one more thing to him but I watched as his eyes finally closed and felt his body go limp.

I bit my lip because I couldn't stop my tears from flowing down. I hugged his body and said, "Say hello for Cobra to me okay?"

I was ready to call someone to help me carry Namjoon's body but everyone were busy trying to fend off nephilia members.

I felt a breath of relief as I watched Rosé finally get Sarang from the hands of Nephilia.

I looked for Lotus and ended up watching in fear and anger as Lotus set her eyes on me and started walking towards me.

I was angry because she killed Namjoon and hurt Sarang and one of her minions killed Sehun.

There were no words to describe my anger but I am paralyzed in fear that I can't act on my anger.

I was afraid because I didn't want another person to save my ass when I didn't want them to.

Lotus smiled at my expression then said, "Are you finally scared? It's quite sad that I had to kill some of your comrades for that to happen."

I couldn't even say something back as my hands felt Namjoon's cold body. My body was completely frozen.

I didn't realize that I was mere secomds away from being shot in the head until I saw Sarang come running at Lotus screaming, "Don't hurt my eommaaaaaa!"
