*Reader's Pov*

"Ariel, slow down!" Flounder shouted bedside's me, watching my older sister swim past us.

Ariel turned her body towards us, dramatically rolling her eyes at us before swimming over to one of the old sunken ships that surrounded us.

'I love how she was the one to beg us to come yet treats us like we are the nuisance' I grumbled in my head.

Ariel in her excitement dragged me away from training to come along on her little 'adventure'. I did tell her no but she pulled that look that only siblings understand which means they will tell mum and dad.

With Ariel being dad's favourite daughter, she gets what she wants, when she wants and god help anyone who gets in her away.

So not wanting to be scolded on this particular day, I let myself get dragged away saluting to my training buddies who jokingly did it back.

"God your sister is fast" Flounder huffed tiredly from trying to keep up, wiping imaginary sweat off his fish forehead. He eyed me from the corner of his eyesight begging me not to follow my sister's actions.

"Yep," I told him, swimming past him with a grin when he started whining about me being a meanie. I swam next to Ariel who was holding onto a part of a ship surveying the area around us.

"You know you are going to be in deep trouble once we get back" I explained to her, leaning onto the part of the ship she was leaning on facing her. She huffed in irritation and snapped around glaring at me with fake anger.

"But doing this and being here with you guys is more fun than that concert would ever be, "She told me, gesturing to the area we were in her eyes gleaming with joy as she did.

I was about to lecture her about her nonchalance of the situation but then flounder came next to us huffing and puffing which gave Ariel an excuse to ignore me.

"Ah look flounder there it is!" She exclaimed, pointing to a particular ship that sat on a small sand hill that was formed by the ocean's movement. The ship was ragged, had lots of cracks in it and its sails were torn to pieces but other than that, it was still mostly intact but I wouldn't put any seashells on its stability.

"Isn't fantastic?" Ariel asked us while marvelling over it. Flounder sighed.

"Yeah, sure. It's great. Now let's get out of here" Flounder said worriedly itching away from the ship, I nodded to flounders suggestion.

Ariel and I have known Flounder since we were kids, I remember that the way we meet was because Flounder got scared by a sea urchin which he thought was a monster and fled to the castle's garden where Ariel and I were playing. We helped him calm down and reunite him with his mother.

But back to the present.

After flounders logical suggestion, he tried to swim away to try and coax Ariel to leave but she grabbed his tail before he could get far.

"Oh! you're not getting cold fins now, are you?" Ariel scoffed. Flounder began to stutter out his excuse but no one was listening.

I grabbed Ariel's shoulder and pulled her around to face me "You know he has the right idea. You know the type of creatures that occupies this space, this is pure ignorance" I stated to her, staring right in her eye to get my point across.

Ariel being the brat she is rolled her eyes at me and harshly pulled my hand off her shoulder. She turned back around and began swimming over to the wreak.

"Rude" I muttered but followed her none the less cause I am always the one saving her scales.

Flounder followed after us but started complaining about a supposed cough he had.

'At least try to come up with a good excuse Flounder' I thought annoyed while rolling my eyes.

"All right. (Reader) and I am going inside, you can just stay here and watch for sharks" Ariel whispers before slipping into the ship through one of its windows.

"Yeah, you go. I'll stay and..." Flounder whispered before realizing what she said "What? Sharks! is this true (Reader)!? please tell me no!" I nodded yes to his question then slipped in after Ariel.

Flounder began freaking out and tried to follow us through the Window but got stuck.

"Guys, I can't... I mean... guys help!" Flounder begged, getting more scared the longer he was stuck.

I grabbed onto his fin and tried to help him out but we needed for strength.

Ariel watching me try to pull flounder through and laughed at his predicament, she swam over and with both of us pulling we got Flounder out.

After that Flounder and I followed Ariel as she explored the ship. I stopped here and there to look at things but I wasn't really that interested.

Flounder, on the other hand, looked very uncomfortable. He hid behind me with every creak we heard with a special and followed behind me like a lost puppy.

"This is great," Flounder said, wearily looking around the place "I mean, I really love this. Excitement, adventure, danger lurking around every corner..." That's when Flounder became face to face with a skeleton who was sitting in a chair. Flounder screamed like someone had died and ran into a support beam in his rush to run away.

I swam quickly over to Ariel who was a bit away watching the show so then I could protect her if anything happened.

"(Reader)!" I heard Flounder yell before I saw a yellow blob rush over and crash into me. This sent me onto the ground but I wasn't that hurt. I hugged Flounder's shivering form trying to soothe him.

"You ok?" I asked him staring at him worriedly. I let him go when he nodded but he proceeded to shiver violently in the water obviously not ok.

"Yeah, sure. No problem. I'm ok" He tried to tell us still shivering.

I patted his head as a last resort to calm him.

I looked over to Ariel to see her looking up at where the boat collapsed after Flounder knocked the beam over.

"Ari-" Ariel shushed me before I could complete what I was saying then swam up to the area. Flounder and I looked at each other sighing before following her.

We peeked over the ridge of the platform above us when Ariel gasped and rushed over to an item shining in the light.

She grabbed onto the item and held it up high so then more light could reflect on it.

"Have you ever seen anything so wonderful in your entire life!" She declared staring at the item.

"Wow! cool! But, uh, what is it?" Flounder asked. I swam next to Ariel and studied the item in her hand.

'It kind of looks like Dad's triton'

"I don't know, but I bet Scuttle will" Ariel claimed, shoving the thing in Flounders' face to make him look at it closer.

"Not that weirdo, he doesn't even know the difference between a mermaid and a fish!" I objected, scoffing at the idea of that dumb bird knowing anything.

Ariel was going to object but something caught her eye and she went to investigate.

Flounder and I looked at each other and sighed heavily.

But that's when I shadow went past the massive window beside us.

'Oh god I knew I shouldn't have gotten out of bed today'
