I walked into my office with a huge smile on my face. My assistant, Mya, was curious because I would usually come in with a frown or a hard face.
"Mr. August." She called me.
"Yes?" I answered
"Are you alright this morning?" She asked as she set the coffee I asked her to get, on the desk.
"I'm perfectly fine, Mya. Why do you ask?" I asked her
"Because you're smiling." She said.
"Yeah. I am." I chuckled.
"Mr. August. Did you by any chance "get laid"?" She asked, putting air quotes around "get laid".
I laughed and nodded. "I can't lie." I said.
"Oh my goodness. Okay, I'm just going to run a background check on you're wife to make sure you're not high." She said.
"No need for that, Mya." I told her. "But I do need you to sort these." I handed her a stack of papers. "Each and every business offer I got but didn't take. I want you to sort them so I can send them back to the fuckers who gave me them." I said as I started to type on my computer.
"Sure." She said.

Denise August
"Candace, this is way too tight." I said.
"Isn't this your size?" She said. I looked at the size and saw it was a size six.
"I'm a size nine." I chuckled. She looked at it and facepalmed herself.
"Oh my gosh. Denise I'm so sorry. I had like no sleep last night." She groaned.
"How come?" I asked.
"It's just my new born. My... husband takes care of him during the day since he works at night and I work during the day." I was curious when she paused at husband but I shrugged it off.
"I'll give you the day off today." I said
"Denise that's okay. You don't have to." She said and I immediately replied.
"But I want to. Please go home and get some rest." I told her. She nodded and gathered her stuff.
"Thanks Denise." She said
"No problem." I said.
She then left and I called my other friend, Jacob.
"Shut the fuck up August before I chop you to pieces! Hello?" He answered as I heard laughing in the background.
"Hey. What did August do?" I asked him
"Remember that raccoon story that ruined my childhood? Well I told August and he still can't stop laughing!" He yelled. August kept laughing in the background and I chuckled.
"Denise hang on a sec." He said and put the phone down. After about 7 minutes he came back on the phone. "Okay so you called me for..?" He asked.
"I gave Candace the day off cuz she doesn't get sleep so come." I said
"On my way." He hung up.
After half an hour, Jacob finally came.
"Hey hey!" He said and hugged me.
"Hey." I said kissing his cheek and sighing afterwards.
"Wassup?" He asked me
"I'm fucking hungry." I said, slouching my shoulders and chuckling.
