Bailey's POV

All we had to do now was wait for Sophia to arrive. I had already text mum and she said that they would be five minutes. Brandon had already gone home. I was hidden behind a bush.

What's going to happen is mums going to bring Sophia over to the spot. Then she's going to make an excuse to go and get something from the car and then she's going to drive home. I'm going to wait until she's gone and then I'm going to come out of hiding and surprise her. Then I'm going to sing her a song ad we're going to dance together. Then I'm going to propose. Very simple- not!

Just then I heard my phone go off. I took it out of my pocket and looked at it. It was a text from mum.

To Bailey,

Just arrived. Be ready!

Love mum xxxxxxx

I was ready. Ready for one of the most important parts of my life.

I quickly peered over the top of the bush. I saw mum and Sophia approaching me. I quickly hid again. They came to a stop and I heard mum talking.

"Damn it! I left my bag in the car. Can you wait here while I just go and get it?"

"Sure."

I waited a few minutes until I was sure that mum had gone. This was it. The moment I had been waiting for.

I stood up and walked up behind Sophia. I coughed quietly and she turned around. She looked surprised and confused.

"Bailey? What are you doing here?"

"Don't say anything." I said and grabbed her hand and we started to dance. Then I started singing.

We carried on dancing, gazing into each others eyes. I spun her around and quickly got down on one knee. When she faced me, she gasped and put her hands to her mouth. I smiled as I spoke.

"Sophia, ever since we met I have loved you. And I will carry on loving you. I always knew that me and you were meant to be, and obviously we are because look where we are now. I feel your every emotion. When you're happy, I'm happy. When you're sad, I'm sad. Nothing could ever change the way I feel about you. You are my sun, my moon, my stars, my world, my universe. I wake up every day with a smile on my face, knowing that when I turn over, I'll see your face. Knowing that I'm always going to wake up to you being there. Without you, I'm nothing. With you, I'm something. Nothing can change that. You're my Juliet and I hope that I'm your Romeo. And I just wanted to know-" I pulled the box out of my pocket and lifted the lid to reveal the ring sat inside it, "Sophia Maria Jenkins, will you marry me?"

She paused for a split second.

"Of course I will." She smiled.

I was grinning from ear to ear. I picked up the ring and placed it on her finger. It fit perfectly.

I stood up and without saying a word, I kissed her under the twinkling fairy lights. One word. Perfect.
