Chapter 6: The Aliens Arrive

The time had finally come, the aliens were beginning to make their move. The UGN saw movement from some of the UFOs in space. They decided they should be on alert for an attack and prepared a nuclear missile attack in which they would shoot at the UFOs from multiple locations.

Yet the aliens had technology far beyond the scope of what the UGN was prepared for. They arrived in stealth ships and caught the humans by surprise. Before the missiles could stop them, a large UFO entered the earth's atmosphere, followed by dozens of smaller, unknown aircrafts.

The largest aircraft hovered over the clouds at several locations and stopped right over Washington DC. The smaller aircrafts went to other places on the globe and caused immense damage everywhere they went.

The same day the aircrafts arrived, an eclipse began to cover the sun. Darkness slowly descended. Of course, the president himself was alerted.

"What do you mean there's a big space craft floating over the capital?" The president asked, as he sat in his oval office where aliens didn't exist.

He went outside, expecting everyone was overreacting. They had to be mistaken. But there it was.

Suspended in the atmosphere was a massive ship obstructing the sunlight. But it was becoming less noticeable. The ship had started to blend in with the clouds and the sky. Everyone would soon find out that the alien ship was surrounded by an invisible force field and camouflage which not only made it hard to see, but also made all attacks against the ship useless.

The aliens soon made their move. They sent a message through the air ways to everyone's televisions and electronic devices. All screens were taken over. Everyone watched as their shows, videos, games, were all interrupted by a huge, human like alligator.

The creature had green scales but stood on two feet. His eyes were wide, creepy. His teeth shark and long. Dressed in black clothing, face a mash up of blocky alligator features with a human head shape.

"My name is King Ion from Reptonia," he said. "And I demand you give back my energy orb that landed on your planet a couple of years ago. I give you three months to gather back all the shards to form the orb. If you cannot give me back my orb in that time period, I will rage war and take the orb back by force." 

The president froze in silence as the broadcasting stopped and went to static. Under normal circumstances, it would've been played off as crazy people trying to create chaos. But since there was a UFO hovering right over the white house...

Well, the president soon decided he had to take matters into his own hands and address the world leaders about the situation. He had no clue what to do about it, but they'd have to figure out something. It was only a matter of time before panic drove the citizens of the United States into a frenzy.

"First things first," the president said, as he addressed his closest staff. "We're going to need to set up an emergency warning to the citizens of the United States so we can collect the orb and give the aliens what they want. We'll need to also find ways to assure the people. Keep everyone calm about the situation."

The president also called up an emergency United Great Nations meeting to plan the best course of action. All of the leaders in countries around the world flew out in their private jets to an undisclosed location, to have a serious conversation as to resolve the issue. The president of the United States stood in front of the UGN. All eyes on the conference room on him.

"We need to work together to gather back the orb," he said.

Everyone exchanged uneasy glances. Tension slunk around the room. No one wanted to admit to any wrongdoing. So, it was up to one of the more prominent leaders to take a stand.

China's president spoke up reluctantly. "I'll have to apologize," he said. "But such an occurrence couldn't be ignored. We never thought someone would come to earth to claim the shards.

"A few of the shards were gathered up. People who found them were paid large sums of money to hand them over to our scientists. They experimented with different shards and even broke some of them down to study them further."

Other countries also soon confessed to doing similar things with their shards. The president of the United States sat in deep silence as he started to realize there was no hope of returning a full orb to the alien's as requested.

One country suggested trying a peace treaty. Another country wanted to rage war and fight for the human race. Everyone in the room went at each other in chaos.

"Hey," a bodyguard interrupted. "Everyone, look at the screen."

Everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and looked up at the screen. A missile had hit the alien spaceship. It was shown on the news to the world to see.

The missile had been sent up by one of the countries that wasn't present for the meeting and took matters into their own hands. It had hit the force field and blew up.

The Reptonians quickly reacted and the small ships brought chaos and destruction in the area from where the missile was launched. The earth was doomed.

Any nuclear attack waged against the aliens would just be stopped by the force field, and humans would be left with the radiation. Among the shock brought about by the event that just happened, the president remembered the energy shard users.

"Calm down everyone for a moment," he said. "Why don't we release project 'Energy Shard?"

After some debate, they all agreed to unleash a project that was almost forgotten about and never used.

Before anything could be put into place though, the aliens started descending on Washington DC. They terrified everyone, chomping at them with those awful teeth. They trapped people with their stun guns, locked them in strong chains and held them captive in their ships.

People ran in chaos, tramping over each other as the invasion started. The aliens took anything that glowed or looked like a shard. Going so far as to rip rings off of people's fingers. Breaking bones in the process. Doing far worse.

They were mean carnivorous creatures. With black wings that had been hidden during the broadcast. They flew through air like nasty, human sized bugs. They were also able to go invisible for a couple seconds, which made them harder to find. Giving people the worst surprises.

The prince's mother ship soon landed on the earth with his army, looking for the ruler of the earth. He wanted to take matters into his own hands to claim praise from his peers and receive a very nice reward for his actions.
