The sky is filled with smoke from burning rubble. Solidus Snake and his army have captured another village from the enemy. Only two enemy soldiers are alive and Solidus has you helping him break their spirits with torture. You grab a hot iron and brand their faces before letting them go. You and Solidus take them to the outskirts of the village.
Solidus: Both of you have a simple task. Tell your brethren, your commanders, your families. We will liberate this nation and nothing will stop us! If you want us dead then try harder! Send your worst next time! Are we understood!?
Soldier: Y-Yes sir! We're leaving!
You and Solidus watch them run away. Solidus looks down at you with his arms crossed.
Solidus: Boy, I have a pop quiz for you. How many messenger's does is take to send a message?
You grab your rifle and aim for one of the soldiers running away. Seeing them flee like rats makes you chuckle sadistically.
(Y/N): Just one sir....
Solidus: That's my boy.
*BANG*
Timeskip
Today is the day for the Sports Festival to begin. You lay in your bed and have another nightmare. You wake up to the sounds of rain pouring outside. Blade Wolf sits next to your bed and looks up at you.
Blade Wolf: It's time to wake up Raiden. Were you having another nightmare?
(Y/N): I'm fine Wolf. *Sigh* I was really hoping i wouldn't have one this time.
Blade Wolf: Do you have them this often?
(Y/N): Yeah, but it's just something i have to live with. Could you make some coffee for me?
Blade Wolf: Affirmative.
You get out of bed and walk over to your window to watch the rainfall outside. Seeing it makes you feel at ease. You suddenly get a call on your codec from Hatsume and answer it.
Mei: Raideeeen! Are you up yet!?
(Y/N): *Yawns* I am now. I'm guessing you slept well considering how hyper you sound.
Mei: Nope! No sleep for me! I stayed up all night working on my babies!
(Y/N): I guess that makes two of us. I hardly got any rest either. You might want to pack an umbrella today.
Mei: Yeah it's really pouring out there! I hope that the festival doesn't get canceled!
(Y/N): I doubt that'll happen Mei. Besides....the rain is kinda peaceful though. I was born on a day just like this....My parents would always tell me about it when i was a kid.
Mei: Aw that's so cute! Your parents sound awesome! I'm sure they'll love to watch you at the festival! My parents are super excited about it!
(Y/N): Are they now? Well then....
Mei: Raiden are you ok? You sound kinda bummed out.
You look out into the city and continue to watch the rain fall. The clouds begin to part and the sun shines down. You take a few deep breathes and compose yourself.
(Y/N): I'm fine Hatsume. I'll see you at the Festival.
