Chapter 15: Catch Up

Will's p.o.v

I've missed Clary so much. She's my Best friend but the truth is I've been in love with her for the 1 year now. I'm the only one who knows what Sebastian did to her. And believe me I almost beat the guy to death. I found out what happened to her because one day I saw bruises on her neck, arms and legs. Then she blurted it out by accident. Once I saw her at the door my breath got caught in my throat, she looked so beautiful it was unreal and when I saw her beautiful green eyes my heart beat picked up.Then I saw that Jace Guy, I don't like him. The way he looks at is Clary like he loves her, it makes me sick to see Clary with another guy. Not that they are together. And Clary has only ever had one boyfriend and that was Sebastian. The thought of Sebastian and what he did to her makes my blood boil.

We arrive at the mall and sit down at Starbucks to get a coffee and eat something. We order and take our seats.

"So what's going on with that Jace guy?" I asked. Her eyes widen. I look at her curiously.

"N-nothing, nothing a-at all." Clary stuttered. Okay something's going on between them two. That makes me angry. It should be me with her. Not some guy she just met! I was about to say something when a guy walks over to us and stops at our table. He has ash blonde hair and grey eyes. admittedly he was good looking. He had muscle and broad shoulders.

"Hey beautiful." The guy said to Clary. Okay now I'm pissed off. Clary rolled her eyes.

"What do you want Nate?" Clary asked. I raised my eyebrows. They knew each other?

"Well Jon said that Matthew told him a soon as I dropped you off at your English class and Sebastian walked in you jumped up and sprinted out of school and he said Jace saw you and took you home." Nate said. Clary looked down at her shoes. Sebastian is here?! "Clary sweetie can you please tell me what that was about? you looked fine when I dropped you off, and then you just ran out of the school crying." Clary looked up at him.

" Nate I don't think that is any of your business to know." Clary said. Her eyes starting to tear up. Oh man this guy needs to leave now. A tear rolled down her face. Nate saw and gently wiped it away with his thumb. Clary jerked away at his touch. "I think you need to leave Nate I'm catching up with a friend." Clary said gesturing toward me. Nate looks at me and scowls. I glare at him. He looks concerned when Clary cry's and when she's okay he has lust in his eyes. I will not let him near her like that. Over my dead body.

"Did you tell Jace why?" He asked a little bit harshly. Clary shook her head.

"No one knows. Now if you can please go now. I'll see you at school, okay?" Clary said. Nate nods and walks away.

once he's out off sight I turn to Clary. Her emerald green eyes look bright green. They always do that when she cry's. Her fiery red hair was flowing down her back in soft curls. She was wearing a Fall Out boy tank top, black ripped skinny jeans and black sand shoes. She was breathtaking. She was mixing her ice coffee with a straw.

"Sebastian is here and goes to your school?!" I whisper shout. Clary nods her head. Oh no. "And what happened at school. Did you tell your brother?" I ask.

"No I didn't tell Jon, Jace is the only one who knows. When I came here yesterday, I was welcomed home by some of Jon's friends um... Jace, Nate, Kendall, Ben, Jared, Josh and Leo. Then we heard a knock on the door Jon was pissed that someone interrupted our 'reunion'. Jonathan opens the door and Sebastian was standing there. He asks to see me. Jace looked at me worryingly and i told him to tell Sebastian I'm not here. He nodded and I snuck behind the guys to go to my room. But Sebastian saw me and barged into the house yelling my name. He was saying that he wants me back and that he's sorry, I said I will never forgive him for what he did to me and he said I was in love with you and that he saw me for what I truly was a slut. Once Jon heard that him and the guys charged at him and chased him down the street. Jace stayed with me to make sure I'm safe from Sebastian. Jon wanted a explanation, Jace is staying with us for the next 2 months so I told both Jace and Jon. Jon was crying and was really angry. Jace, Jace was red with anger and he looked like he was going to murder Sebastian." Clary said. Once I heard that Jace looked like he was going to murder Sebastian I froze. No, that was my job.

"Then today was my first day of school, Nate insisted on walking me to class, he said he wants to cause Sebastian is going everywhere I am and pretty much stalking me. I was in class with a friend of mine Matthew Fairchild. Then Sebastian walked in and sat in front of me and Matt. He was threatening me saying that he would do a lot worse then what he did last time to me if i didn't take him back. I just had enough and ran out of school. Jace saw me crying and running down the hallway to my car he followed and I drove us home. He wanted to be there just incase Sebastian decides to pay a little visit again. When I turned off my car I bolted into the house and into my room. I completely forgot about Jace and that he was there.

I grabbed some photos I put in a frame of me and Sebastian when we first started dating, i grabbed one and threw it across the room shattering it then I just continued until I fell to the ground crying hysterically but Jace grabbed me gently and hugged me trying to calm me Down. He then picked me up and put me on his lap on my bed so I don't cut myself." Clary looked at me with wide eyes like she should've said that part. But she continued. "I told him what happened and then we um...we kissed. We decided not to tell Jon about us for now cause Jon wouldn't like that. So I guess Jace is my boyfriend. Now," she held up a hand. "Before you say anything. I'm just saying you don't know him yet so you don't know how caring he is. He's comforted me when I was upset. He's amazing." Clary said smiling. "And he would never hurt me."

I just sat there not saying anything shocked beyond belief. "Please don't tell Jon any of this." Clary begged me. I nodded my head and took in a deep breath.

We drove home and I walked her to her door, she hugged me and said goodbye. "Clary wait." I said she turned around.

"Clary I want to tell you something, I just wasn't ready to tell you it yet and I was going to tell you at lunch but what you told me I couldn't tell you, but now I am." I say, Clary looks at me curiously.

"What is it?" Clary asked raising her eyebrows. I took in a deep breath. I was really close to her now.

"Clary, I'm in love with you." I say. "I've been in love with you for 1 year now." Clary looked beyond shocked.

"Will I-I...um-" i cut her off by crashing my lips to hers. Clary made a noise and pushed me away, I staggered back a little. I looked at Clary she had tears in her eyes. "What the hell Will?!" Clary yelled.

"Clary didn't you hear what I just said? I'm in love with you. I have been In love with you for 1 year now and most of the time I've had trouble keeping it in." I say stepping closer to her. She held up a hand to warn me off.

"Don't Will just-just go home, please." She said. What? I'm her best friend.

"What? I'm your best friend Clary." I said.

Clary glares at me. "Best friends don't kiss each other Will!" Clary screamed making me flinch. Just then Jace opens the door.

"What's going on?" Jace said looking between Clary and I.

Clary shook her head. "Nothing Jace let's just go inside." She said. Jace was glaring at me, when he looked at Clary his face softened and he looked concerned. I felt a jolt of jealousy. She's his. They are together. I just kept on repeating that in my head. She's his. Clary turned to go inside Jace following. I grabbed her arm lightly making her turn around.

"Wait Clary please." I beg her.

"No Will. Not right now we'll talk later." She said looking sad and angry. I nod and head to my car a soon as they close the house door. I punch my car hard and drive off.
