Chapter 28: Telling Jon The Truth

Clary's p.o.v

"How the hell did you do that?" Jon asked clinching his teeth.

Once I was cleaned up Jace carried me into the living room and sat me on the couch. He sat next to me and interlaced our fingers. Jon sat opposite us glaring at Jace. Jace looked confused.

"Do what?" Jace asked. He put his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"Clam her down like that. It usually takes a lot to." Jon said pinching his eyebrows together. He looked really pissed off.

"I don't know, when I do that it always seems to work, it worked all of the other times." Jace said shrugging.

"There was other times?" Jon said clinching his hands into fists. Oh crap, now we have to explain all the other times.

"Yeah a few times now." He said holding me tighter. Jon got up. He was red.

" when were those times?" He demanded.

"Jon clam down okay?" I said. Jon let out a breath and nodded and sat down again.

" When were those times?" He asked again. Jace looked at me and I nodded.

" One time was when I ran out of the school and the second was when Will hit me." I Said.

"You never told me what happened when you ran out of the school." Jon stated. I looked at Jace and he nodded. I motioned for Jace to tell. He nodded and smiled. I did the same.

"Okay, I was walking down the hallway in school when I heard Mrs Penny yelling after Clary, she was crying and ran out of the school. I ran after her and we drove home." He looked at me as if to ask 'should I tell him this part?' I nodded and he continued. " When we got home she went straight to her room, I guess she forgot I was there because she took out photos she had of her and Sebastian when they were dating." Jace's eyes turned dark with hatred but then soon turned back to their normal gold shade.

"She started shattering them on her wall and fell down on the broken glass crying hysterically, I quickly caught her before she hurt herself. And I did what I did before to calm her down, it worked. I picked her up and sat her in my lap on her bed so she wouldn't cut herself. Clary told me what happened. Sebastian walked into the classroom and sat In front of Matt and Clary. He pretty much threatened her. Clary said she couldn't handle it so she ran out of the school. Once she finished telling me I was ready to murder that son of a bitch. Then I kissed her." Jace said looking sort of scared of Jon.

Jon jumped up and started charging at Jace. I quickly jumped up and stood In front of Jace. Jon stopped immediately.

"Sit. Down. Jonathan." I said, I never say his full name only when I'm serious. Jon hesitantly sat back down and put his head in his hands. Jace took my hand and pulled me back down next to him and wrapped his arm around my waist protectively.

"You like her Jace?" Jon asked lifting his head from his hands. Jace smiled slightly and squeezed my waist.

"Jon I'm in love with her." Jace stated. Jon looked pissed but nodded instead of saying anything. He then turned to me.

"And you. Do you like him." He asked looking deep into my eyes.

"Yeah, of course i do." No I don't like him, I love him. I'm going to tell him tonight. Jon. Nodded, he turned to Jace who was smiling at me. Jace peeled his eyes from me and looked at Jon, Jonathan set his jaw.

"Jace I'm only going to tell you this once, if you ever hurt Clary, best friend or not I will kill you in every way possible." Jace tightened his grip around my waist and smiled at Jon. He looked at me reassuringly, I smiled at him.

"You don't have to worry about that Jon I will never hurt her." Jace stated. I blushed and Jace looked at Jon with a serious look on his face. Jon nodded, he already new that Jace would never hurt me but just warned Jace what he would do if he ever did which we all knew Jace wouldn't. Jon got up and looked down at us.

"I'm going to bed, it's 9:00pm. Goodnight guys." Jon said.

"Night." Jace and I said both at the same time in a state of shock. Jon walked to me and kissed my forehead.

"Take care of her Jace." He said.

"Of course Jonathan." Jace said. Jon walked down the hallway and into his room, closing his door. Jace and I sat there frozen, Jon let that go pretty easily. I turned to look at Jace to find that he was staring at me smiling, I raised an eyebrow and Jace chuckled. Jace cupped my face and kissed me.

I pulled back to a smiling Jace. Now's the time to tell him, Jace was studying my face. He was looking at me as if I has the first star in the night sky, his eyes were shining.

"Jace I need to tell you something." I think my face went serious because Jace looked nervous.

"W-what is it?" Jace asked. I grabbed his hands because they were shaking. He probably thinks it's bad news, far from it.

"Jace I love you." I said. Jace's eyes lit up and he smiled hugely. He sighed a huge breath of relief, he gripped my waist and flipped me over gently so I was laying on my back and he was on top of me but somehow managing to keep all his weight off me. Jace laughed and crashed his lips to mine. We kissed for what seemed like forever back could have only been minutes. I pulled back and we were both gasping for air.

"Thank god, I thought you were going to break up with me or something." Jace said putting his head in the crook of my neck and breathing in the sent of me. I laughed, Jace pulled his face out of my neck and kissed my forehead.

"Is that why you looked so nervous?" I asked giggling, Jace nodded and kissed me again.

"Say it again I love the sound of it." Jace said. I giggled.

"I love you Jonathan Herondale." I said, Jon told me Jace's full name Jonathan Herondale weird thing my brother and his best friend have the same name. That's why they nicknamed him Jace cause Jon and him had the same name, Jace knows I know.

"I love you too Clarissa Morgentsern." Jace said looking deep into my eyes. I smiled and caressed his cheek. Jace kissed me again.
