Chapter 16: Its Not Your Fault

Jace's p.o.v

It was 8:00pm. Jon said he was tired, he went to bed around 6:00pm.

About 2 minutes later I hear a car pull up. I go over to the window and look out. I see Clary hugging Will goodbye, I could hear perfectly what they were saying.

"Clary wait." Will says. Clary turned around.

"Clary I want to tell you something, I just wasn't ready to tell you it yet and I was going to tell you at lunch but what you told me I couldn't tell you, but now I am." Will says, Clary looks at him curiously. What the hell?

"What is it?" Clary asked raising her eyebrows. Will took in a deep breath. He was really close to her now. Too close for my liking.

"Clary, I'm in love with you." He said. "I've been in love with you for 1 year now." Clary looked beyond shocked. WHAT THE FUCK???!!!

"Will I-I...um-" Will cut her off by crashing his lips to hers. Now he's going to get it!! Clary made a noise and quickly pushed Will away, good. He staggered back a little. Will looked at Clary she had tears in her eyes. "What the hell Will?!" Clary yelled.

"Clary didn't you hear what I just said? I'm in love with you. I have been In love with you for 1 year now and most of the time I've had trouble keeping it in." He said stepping closer to her. She held up a hand to warn him off.

"Don't Will just-just go home, please." She said. Good she did the right thing. I never liked Will anyway. There was just something off about him. Now I know what that was.

"What? I'm your best friend Clary." He said.

Clary glares at him. "Best friends don't kiss each other Will!" Clary screamed making Will flinch. I've had enough he might try again so I opened the door.

"What's going on?" I said looking between Clary and Will like I had no idea what was going on.

Clary shook her head. "Nothing Jace let's just go inside." She said. I was glaring at Will. Clary gave me a look that said I'll tell you inside. when i looked at Clary my face softened. I looked at her lovingly. Clary turned to go inside I followed. Will grabbed her arm lightly making her turn around.

"Wait Clary please." He begs her.

"No Will. Not right now we'll talk later." She said looking sad and angry. Will nods and heads to his car a soon as I close the house door. He punches the car hard and drives off.

I follow Clary into the house. She looks tired and stressed. I close the door and walk up to her, Clary turns around. I embrace her in my arms hugging her tightly to my chest. Clary snuggles into my chest. I couldn't help the smile that's on my face when she does that. I love her. I love her so much. I just hope she loves me back. I've never loved any girl before Apart from my mother, but Clary's different a good different.

"You know I saw him kiss you right?" I asked kissing the top of her head. Her red hair smelled like stawberries.

"I know I saw you." She chuckled. "I'm sorry Jace." Clary said.

"For what?" I asked curious to what she's sorry about.

"You saw him kiss me and I'm your girlfriend and I kissed someone else." Clary said sadly. Does she really think this is her fault?

"No Clary sweetie, you have nothing to be sorry for. It wasn't your fault. He kissed you and you quickly pushed him off. So you have nothing to be sorry for, you did the right thing." I say. What I said was true it wasn't her fault Will kissed her, that was his doing. And she pushed him off immediately. Clary pulled back to look up at me. She nodded. I pushed some hair behind her ear. I leaned down and kissed her with as much passion I can give. Which is a lot when it comes to my Clary. I smile against her lips. My Clary. We pull back gasping for air.

"I'm going to go to bed I'm pretty tired. Okay?" Says Clary. I nod.

"I am to. Do you mind if I sleep with you tonight?" I ask hoping she would say yes. I just wanted to snuggle up with her in my arms, fall asleep next to her and wake up with her.

Clary raised her eyebrows. I laughed. "I don't mean like that. I won't touch you like that unless you want me to. I just want to spend the night with you. Please?" I plead giving her my puppy dog face, every time I use it on her it always works. I hope it works now.

Clary laughed. "Yeah sure I would like that." She smiled her beautiful smile. We walked hand in hand to her bedroom. Jon was asleep so we didn't need to worry about him walking out. As soon as we go in her room she immediately locks the door so Jon won't walk in-in the morning and see us. Clary enters the bathroom to get changed. I strip down to my boxers and wait there. Clary walks out in just a oversized t-shirt. Probably one of Jon's and no pants just underwear. Not that I can see them, the shirt goes the her mid thigh. She looked sexy as hell. She walks over to me and kisses me and I kiss her back.

"Come on let's go to bed." Clary said, I nod. I walk over to her bed and jump in, Clary then climbs in after me. I grab her lightly by the waist, pulling her so her head rests on my chest. I could feel her steady heart beat. Clary outstretched her arm across my stomach and we interlace our fingers.

"Goodnight beautiful." I whisper.

"Goodnight Jace." Clary whispers back.

When she's about to fall asleep I know she can't really register what I say so I whisper in her ear.

"I love you." I Won't be the one to end this relationship, that is her choice. I then fall into a deep sleep of my own.
