Waking up to my phone going off, I sat up to grab my phone off the nightstand. It was a call from my ma. Swiping across my screen to answer, I got up and walked to the bathroom being sure not to wake Ri (Ry,Ri).

"Hey ma." I said closing the door behind me

"Hey baby, how you doing?" She said

"I'm doing alright. I'm out in Belize right now." I said in mid stretch

"Belize? Who are you with?"

Shit. I didn't tell my mom I've been dating again. It's been a month now.

"I'm on a couples trips with some of my friends ma." I said in a sigh
Kind of already knowing where this conversation would take us

"And who might have MY SON been dating?" I swear my mom is so dramatic But luckily she knows and likes Riley

"Riley, we've been dating for a little minute now and I really like her so could you know, not be all mom ish with me right now?" I said taking a seat on the side of the tub

"I'm not saying nothing, I just want to know what's got my child so wrapped up, he ain't call his mama in almost a month." She FaceTimed me

Checking in the mirror, wiping the crust out my eye. I answered, adjusting the volume.

"And you even cut your hair!" She said happily

Ever since shooting Superfly, my mom HIGHLY disliked my hair. Mostly because I had to get a relaxer so it could stay straight. Don't get me started on the touch ups, and then actually doing my hair.

"Yea, I couldn't do it anymore so, I just cut it all off, except my facial hair y'know I gotta keep it."

"You look good baby, I'm glad I get to finally hear your voice and see you again. Next step is a vacation cause you stay out of the US Trevor." She said laughing and making a stank while face rolling her eyes

"Indeed ma. Ill look up some places and set it up for us."

"Alright, I gotta go baby. Mama gotta hurry up or she gone miss her hair appointment." She said moving around on screen

"Alright ma, I love you!"

"Love you too baby and call me sometime."

"Okay ma." I said before the call ended

My mom played a huge part in my life when it came down to support during my divorce with Ze. Between her and Riley, they both kept me together in a way and I won't forget that.

Seeing my notifications I seen that I've had 13 missed calls and 35 messages. The guys were in a group chat.

I proposed to Cori.

Walking back into the room, Riley was up and on her phone.

"Hey baby." I said laying under her

"Hey, you seen the blogs?" She said showing me pictures of Digg and Cori

"I haven't, I talked to Dan though, he texted us after he proposed."

"I'm happy for them, they deserve it."

" You say it like she's not your friend." I said chuckling

"We are friends. I'm just saying she deserves to be happy is all." She said shrugging
