A THOUSAND YEARS

A thousand years,
Has borne legacies,
Of ancient dynasties.
But I look at love.
And see the startling contrast.

A thousand years,
Love gave life,
Gave hope.
Still wreathed in turmoil,
And pain.

But now Love is a poison,
Crippling souls beyond repair.
I've not felt love yet,
But I hope it feels like,
A thousand years ago.
