Deanna's POV

The sun shone through the window and creeped across the hotel room. The light finally hit my eyes and forced me to wake. I sat up on the bed, shaking the sleep from my body. Popping my back, I drape my feet over the edge of the bed. My hair moved to block my face before I pulled it back into a ponytail.

Standing up, I walked over to the bathroom. Looking at myself in the mirror, I decided to look at the news to see if there was a case that could keep me preoccupied.

Turning the tv on, the weather segment was on. I was unimpressed that it was going to continue to be on the colder side of things. After that, the commercials started to play. A department store was having an annual sale and a local craftsman was trying to sell their services. The news came back on shortly after with breaking news. A regional story of a missing teenager being found with no blood left in her body. Vampire.

I grabbed my bags and hit the road again.

I arrived in Oregan eight hours later. I picked another sketchy hotel and decided to check around with the locals if there were any strange people who had just moved into town. I found the first bar which was closest to where the girl was found and decided that's where I'd start my investigation.

Walking into The Celt bar, I walked up to the bar and ordered a beer. It wasn't long after that that a man sat down next to me.

"Well hello there, darling," he started off.

"Hello...." I paused.

"Marcus. My name's Marcus." He smiled.

"Hi Marcus, I'm Deanna." I smiled with a slight hint of being a flirt.

"Why haven't I seen you around here before?" He questioned with a smirk.

"I'm new to town," I smiled back.

"Interesting place to move to huh?" He chuckled.

"Why do you say that?" I acted innocently.

"Because of all the disappearence that have been going on. Wouldn't think a girl who's alone would pick a place like this," He leaned in closer.

"What makes you think I'm alone?" I smirked.

"Well for one, you're alone at a bar on a friday." Was it friday alreay? The days have been melting together lately.

"Of fine, you could me," I winked. "Why are people disappearing?" I asked.

"Some people say that it's a local cult or something, but I'm not so sure about that. I think someone's taking them." He replie as the bar door opened and two more men walked in. They were dressed in suits and ties. They looked very professional. And hot.

The shorter of the two walked up to the bar as the other found a table towards the back. After grabbing two beers, the shorter man walked to the table to meet up with his friend. I couldn't help but stare.

"...... I mean, I know it sounds crazy but this stuff could get pretty scary, you know?" Marcus asked.

I looked at him confused at what he was talking about before I remembered our previous conversation. "Oh yeah, I gotcha." I smiled. "Um, I have to go to the bathroom." I got out of my seat and walketowards the back of the bar. The way to the bathroom just happened to be in the path of the two handsome men. Walking passed them I couldn't help but listen in on their conversation.

"Come on, Sammy. This is an easy case. Let's just kill the vamps and get out." The shorter, more attractive one said to the other. Vamps? These two had to be hunters. As I walked farther down the hall I could feel eyes on me and I turned around. I caught the shorter one with his eyes glued to my ass before they moved up to my eyes. Before turning back around to walk into the bathroom I winked at him.

I stod in front of the mirror for a good minute taking a long look at myself. Most people thought I was gorgeous, well most of the men I had met. But it was easy to tell that the years of hunting were taking their toll. I could see the bags under my eyes even though I had tried to cover them with makeup.

After I felt it had been enough time that I had stalled I walked back out of the bathroom expected to be greated by the handsome man starring at me again, but the two were gone.
