I was in the hospital for three more days before they would allow me to go home. When it came to that day I sat in the lobby in my wheelchair as Yamato finished signing all the release forms. Uncle had also come by so he could carry my crutches for me while we walked/rolled home. Thank god we didn’t live too far from the hospital since no one had a car that was wheelchair accessible.

“This is totally going to suck,” I said, slumping back in my chair.

“How so?” Uncle asked as he looked down at me.

“I have to stay in this stupid cast for months and be confined to this stupid chair,”

“Not completely,” he shrugged, “the doctor said that he wanted you in the chair for the first few months and then you could graduate over to the crutches. Luckily you guys live in a place with an elevator or then it would really suck,”

“Ok,” Yamato said as he walked over to us, “you guys ready?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” I said, placing my hands on the wheels.

“No, no, no,” he said, taking hold of the handlebars on the back, “I want you to relax, ok?”

Moving my hands, I allowed him to push be down the sidewalk to our apartment. I hated the feeling of being an invalid. Even though it was completely understandable why he was doing this, but come on.

“Are you taking off any work Yamato?” Uncle asked when we had made it to the gates.

“I might, I haven’t decided yet,” Yamato said as he punched in the code for the doors.

“You absolutely will NOT!” I said, turning slightly to grab his hand to make him look at me, “You will not abandon those girls!”

            “But Lorien-”

“I can handle doing things on my own, ok? There are also plenty of people who can come check up on me,”

I could see the confliction in his eyes when Uncle held the front door open for us. We had had this conversation several times before. He wanted to make sure that I was going to be ok but I knew that I could never live with myself knowing that I was the reason why Yamato's students weren't ready for their entrance exams. Everyone else had already told me that they would keep an eye on me so he could go to work.

"Ok, if you guys need anything you let me know ok?" Uncle had said once we made it to the door, "and I mean it, anything"

"Thanks Kuni," Yamato said, giving him a hug before he shut the door behind him, "come on, we need to get you to bed,"

          "Yamato," I began to complain.

"Don't talk back," he took hold of the chair again and began to push me into the bedroom.

Why did he always have to be so difficult? I had spent the last few days in a bed and I honestly didn't want to spend any more time in one.

"Don't try to help me, ok?" he said, getting ready to pick me up in his arms, "let me do the work,"

"Alright," I knew that it wasn't too much work for him to hold me, even with my cast.

After placing me on the bed, he walked out into the kitchen where I could hear him open the fridge. When he came back I saw him holding a bottle of water and a pill container. Placing the pills on the nightstand, he opened the bottle of water and handed it to me.
