Just as I was about to call Yamato, the bar door opened.

“Why is it that this bar is always empty?” I heard Yamato’s familiar voice, “don’t you ever have any real customers?”

“Yamato!” I smiled as I stood up to hug him.

“That was perfect timing man,” Yuta nodded, “she was just about to call you,”

“Did you just get off work?” Uncle asked, already grabbing him a drink.

“Yea, it’s been busy not that I’m a homeroom teacher for seniors,” he sat down at the bar between Yuta and me, “I thought I’d pick up Pouty on the way home,”

“That’s awfully good timing to be a coincidence,” he eyed him suspiciously.

“He timed it with Lorien’s end of shift,” Yuta nudged his shoulder, “You’re such a gentleman!”

“You never know when some idiot may try to hit on this wild beast!”

He would always say stuff like that, but I think it was just to cover up his embarrassment. He really was a gentleman and he would always come just in time to pick me up from work to make sure that I wasn’t walking home alone.

“Well I guess since you came out of your way to come get her, I’ll treat you to some beer,”

“It’s not out of my way,”

“Who cares? He’s treating you!” Yuta raised his empty glass.

“Especially since we don’t have any customers!” Uncle smiled, “We have the whole place to ourselves today!”

“Yuta do you want beer from the tap as usual?” I asked as I began to walk around the bar, “Yamato-”

“I’ll have my usual as well,” he smiled.

Pulling out a beer bottle, I popped the top off and handed it to him.

“I’m jealous, you got served my Lorien,” Yuta frowned as Uncle handed him his glass.

“That’s because he’s my girl,” he winked at me, making me blush slightly.

After we clinked our glasses together and updated each other on recent events in our lives, I remembered something Uncle mentioned earlier that day.

“Oh, Uncle,” I looked at him, “what was that thing that you were going to ask me?”

“Oh, that,” his spirits were immediately brought down and he stared at Yamato for a moment.

“Why are you looking at me?” Yamato gave him a funny look.

“The question I had wasn’t really for Lorien, but for you,”

            “I decline,”

            “I didn’t say anything yet,”

“Yeah,” I placed a hand on his shoulder, “Why not listen to what he has to say?”

“No, I decline,” Yamato stood his ground, “Nothing good ever comes out of listening to Kuni’s requests!”

“He doesn’t trust you at all,” Yuta shook his head.
