"Ok...WHAT?!" Bryan asks, panicked as he removes the disguise. "How did the queen know what I look like, let alone know I exist in the first place?"
"I have no idea. I'm just as surprised as you are," Helpy says.
"Maybe someone saw you and reported you to the queen," Cook suggests.
"Yeah, someone must've seen us before we went over to Cook's place," Dum states.
"And now thanks to that, the queen is hunting me down to execute me. As if I needed more reasons to escape this place," Bryan says, disgruntled.
"Hey, Cook!" Duchess cries whilst running towards the gang, holding her baby.
"Oh geez. Duchess, what are you doing here?" Cook asks, annoyed.
"What the heck are you doing, you idiot?! You just assaulted 3 royal guards to help a wanted criminal escape and made me an accessory!" Duchess exclaims.
"Listen, Duchess. I swear these guys have good intentions and the Alice does too. You're fighting for the wrong side," Cook states.
"How dare you?! This is treason towards our queen! She has done everything for this wonderful land and you're calling HER the villain of this story?!" Duchess gasps. "I promise that when all of this is over and that...ALICE is captured," Duchess says pointing to Bryan. "I will fire you. I will not have my baby raised around a criminal like you,"
"Duchess, please. We're seriously doing the right thing. The queen can't be trusted as a good ruler. The Alices that she has executed over the years have been innocent but she deceives everybody into believing they deserve to die. She kills them out of spite, not justice!" Dee explains. "And we can't let Bryan fall into her grasp or else she'll just kill him next and he won't get home."
"Why are you even helping him in the first place? He's not gonna be doing anything for you," Duchess questions. Her query makes the others look at each other in confusion until Bryan finally speaks up for himself.
"I'll stand up to the queen and set them free!" Bryan vows. This makes the others dart their heads at him in shock at his promise.
"Bryan...you don't mean-" Helpy begins.
"With everything I've learned about the queen during my journey here, I can't just go knowing you all are suffering because of her horrible and gruesome ways of ruling. I have to take a stand and save everyone in Wonderland from her," Bryan announces, bravely.
"What a large promise from such a small mortal," Jon says, appearing on a tree branch. Bryan sighs and looks up at Jon with a determined look.
"I realize it's a big task, but I still have to try. I can't just go back to my own life and know everyone here is suffering," Bryan states.
"That's such a heroic and selfless thing to say when you don't even know if you are escaping this hell," Jon says. "Even so, there's no setting these insane souls free. They've been here too long and have now merged with this world's insanity. Let's just hope by the time you get out, you won't be consumed by the demons and the darkness of this world."
"But...I can still stop the queen, right? If I can't set everybody free then I can at least let them live their time here without a horrid ruler," Bryan wonders.
"You watch your mouth, filthy Alice," Duchess speaks, enraged.
"It's a possibility. Nobody has ever reasoned with the queen and lived, that is. But if you have the courage and the right materials, you can make it far enough," Jon states.
"I guess I'll just have to try this for myself and see what fate lies ahead," Bryan says.
"Oh please," Jon laughs as he jumps down from the branch and slowly approaches Bryan. "There's no such thing as fate. All it is really is the result of past choices you may have made. You can kill an innocent soul and be driven mad or you can live out the rest of your days trapped in hell with all of your past demons coming to haunt you. You make choices that affect your result as it's the life that you're living. Life is simply just a power source that aids you in your quest to fulfill the destiny you desire. Nevertheless, one simply chooses their fate," Jon states as he puts his hands on Bryan's shoulders.
