"Please stop! Why are you doing this to us?!"

"It's nothing personal, I promise. Though, there's a certain thing that you have that will be needed in order for me to reclaim my sanity. Your remnant will do nicely."

"No, wait! Get away from me!!! Please, no!"

"Shh...don't be afraid. This will only hurt for a moment"

"No, please. I can get you the help you need. I can get you a psychiatrist. We're friends, aren't we?! Please, Lindsey, I can help you!"

"Oh, Gabriel..."

"YOU CAN'T."

Bryan slowly begins to awaken after hearing a dreadful conversation between two people. His eyes open and he sees he is surrounded by glum, dead plants, and trees that have faded into a gloomy, grey color. Bryan slowly tilts his head to the left to look around more and sees Lin kneeling beside him, her head resting on her hands. She no longer looks like a shadow, but like a human, aside from the huge scar on her face, the violet mark across her neck, and the sadistic look in her eyes. Bryan gasps and sits up, shuffling away from her.

"Good, you're awake. I was wondering when we could talk. I was getting slightly impatient," Lin giggles, standing up.

"W-What am I doing here? Where's Dum and Duchess?" Bryan asks anxiously.

"There's no need to worry about them, Alice. It's just you and me now. And I think it's very important that we talk," Lin says.

"No, I don't want to talk with you. You attacked me and tipped off our plan to the Hatter," Bryan speaks with rage.

"Correction, I told Dor. He then passed on the message to the Hatter," Lin claims.

"Whatever! Because of you, Cheshire is dead," Bryan accuses.

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to care? I never liked that pathetic excuse for a man. He always knew how to screw people over," Lin states. "You shouldn't feel grief for the dead, Alice. It won't do you any justice or pleasure."

"Yet, I should feel grief for you? Sure," Bryan says.

"I never said you should sympathize with me. Trust me when I say this; I'm the last person you should sympathize with," Lin corrects.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Bryan asks.

"Don't worry your pretty little head about it. All you need to do now is listen to what I have to say," Lin says.

"No! I refuse to listen to you. I don't know all the details of your sins, but I know you did horrible things prior to this," Bryan states.

"Hehehe, no need to remind me, Alice. I'm well aware of what I did. Yet, I don't regret it." Lin claims. "The only regret I feel is being a bystander to my mother's...clock's tick coming to a halt. I don't feel too bad, however. After all, it was destiny. You cannot change what is set in stone. Why do you think you're here in the first place?"

"Your mother's...clock coming to a halt? What does that mean?" Bryan wonders.

"That isn't the detail you should focus, Alice," Lin states. "You see, the funny thing about fate is that it's always set in stone. I was fated to die, one way or another, and you were fated to come here. And in such sweet sorrow, you're never able to leave this place...it's fate."

"No, that isn't true. I can escape. All I have to do is defeat the Hatter and save Wonderland," Bryan says.

"And where has that gotten you, huh? Two friends have perished, the rest of them captured, your plan has been discovered, you're in the Hatter's possession ready to have your sanity ripped away from you, need I go on?" Lin reminds. "Does all this not seem hopeless to you?"
