"Wait...no you...you aren't serious," Bryan says, denying Helpy's words to him.

"Ignore me all you'd like, Alice, the queen has never allowed any newcomers to leave," Helpy states.

"My name isn't Alice, Helpy. It's Bryan," Bryan explains.

"Bryan...Alice. Nope, can't see the difference," Helpy says.

"What-ugh. Nevermind that. Why can't the queen let me leave though? All this was a big mistake, I never wanted to come here," Bryan says, slightly panicked at the situation.

"Well...the queen is a tough one. Let me explain," Helpy speaks as she hops onto a tree stump to get slightly at eye level with Bryan.

"You see...the queen is known mostly for her...kill count. She tends to have some anger issues which result in people...quite literally...losing their heads," Helpy explains.

"Oh my god! Are you serious? That's awful," Bryan gasps.

"She wasn't always this sinister. She used to have two people that she cared for. The King of Hearts (her husband) and her best friend, The Hatter. Unfortunately, she lost them both in tragic ways. The queen killed the king with the belief that he was seeing some other girl, but then came to learn the truth that her claims were false. Then she had executed The Hatter's close friend, the March Bear, and a while after, the Hatter went missing. He presumably ran away in fear of being the next on the chopping block," Helpy explains. "At least that's what we've all been told."

"So you're telling me that if I ask the queen for permission to leave, I'll die?" Bryan asks.

"If you ask me, yes. It's impossible to talk with her without getting on her bad side. Even if you compliment her, you'll end up dead. She thinks everybody is against her," Helpy states. "That's why you won't be able to leave. The only one who can grant you access back to your world is a complete lunatic."

"No. There...there has to be another way," Bryan says hesitantly.

"I wouldn't be so sure. Nobody has ever exited this place. There has been a lot of Alices over the years and they were all determined to leave like you. Eventually, their various attempts to leave drove them insane until they finally learned their place in this world. As I said, everybody here is mad," Helpy explains.

"No. No!" Bryan drops to his knees holding his head as he begins to sob. "This isn't real. This is all a bad dream. It has to be. Why am I always the one in these situations? I don't want to go insane. Please just wake me up!" Bryan pleads.

Helpy looks down at him with pity in her eyes and takes a deep breath. She jumps off of the tree stump and pats Bryan's head.

"Hey, if you don't calm down you'll go insane quicker. I don't want to see you like this. None of the other newcomers from years ago went to the stage of pleading for their lives, so I'll try to help you out," Helpy informs. Bryan looks up with tears still in his eyes.

"R-Really? You can help me?" Bryan asks.

"Yeah, I'll come with you to the Queen's palace and try to convince her to not behead you," Helpy says. "But this is only because I feel sympathy for you, so don't get any ideas."

"Uh, ok?" Bryan gets up and wipes the tears away.

"Alright, ya big baby. Let's get going," Helpy mocks as she points forward, signaling to Bryan where they'll be walking.

Bryan follows Helpy through the village as she waves at everyone.

"Hey, Helpy?" Bryan says.

"What's up?" Helpy responds.
