Bryan In Wonderland (A FamousFilms Fan Story)

Page 19-- Improbus Noctem (Heartless Night)

Bryan awakes with a gasp. He looks around and sees that he is in a dark room with a boarded-up window being his only source of light. Bryan walks over to the said window and pulls on the barricades in an attempt to free himself. As easy as it sounds at first, Bryan is unable to pull the boards off. 

He looks through the window and sees the castle gardens, along with a giant maze. Bryan takes note of this as it could be a route to take if he needs a place to get foes lost in. He then remembers what had happened prior to this and realizes that Lin is now gone. Even though her presence is still a mystery to him, he's just glad to be rid of her evil intentions. Bryan also recollects what Freddy had told him in his sleep. Something about a metal box that contains something to stop the Hatter. 

Bryan goes to the door and tries to open it, which ends up failing. Since the door is unable to be opened, Bryan concludes that the box must be hidden inside of the room somewhere. He looks around the room swiftly. He lifts up the raggedy, torn mattress that he woke up on and feels around on the floor, but there's no secret compartment where the chest could be. He tries the dusty, scratched wooden closet but finds nothing but a withered skeleton that falls out in front Bryan, making him yelp in surprise. He inhales and exhales to calm his nerves at the sudden jumpscare.

Bryan is about to place the skeleton back into the closet, but then notices a note attached to its ribcage. He cautiously removes the note and sees that it contains a code. The code reads '123 456 789'.  He runs back over to the door and tries to locate a padlock or anything that accepts a code, but then realizes that the door is locked from the outside. He looks into the closet to see if there's a secret door inside of it that requires a code to open since the skeleton was inside of there. But, there's nothing of interest inside of it. 

Bryan is pretty much out of ideas and rests his back against the wall in disappointment. He looks over the note once again. He then gets up after taking more mental notes about the code and then looks behind him at the wall. He then realizes that his back has wiped off some dust and has revealed tiles that seemed too out of place when compared to the concrete wall. Bryan wipes away the rest of the dust and sees that there are tiles laid out 3 x 3. 

Bryan pushes the first tile and results in it being pushed back as if he were pressing a button. He looks at the code again and inputs the rest of the characters. As he pushes the 9th tile, all the other tiles separate to reveal a secret compartment. 

"Huh, Wonderland really is weird. Weird, but clever," Bryan says to himself. He peers into the compartment and takes out the metal box hidden inside of it. He puts the box on the floor and opens it up. He gazes in wonder at what the chest contains. The chest contains a red sword with a black heart near the handle.
