That night Pari was watching TV, with a huge grin on her face. She kept reliving the kiss earlier that afternoon and wanted to feel his lips on hers again. Dev walked out of the bathroom wearing only a towel , his hair wet and tousled. He looked extremely alluring that way. Pari stood up and edged closer to him, suddenly feeling shy. She surveyed him up and down sending shock waves down his spine and leaving him with a warmth around his stomach.

"Dev?" She said placing a hand on his bare chest.

"Pari?" He said taking her hand and kissing her fingers gently. He leaned forward and kissed her neck, she tilted allowing him in.

"Dev oh my God." She sighed as he lay gentle kisses down to her shoulder. But suddenly he stopped, looking excited. That boyish face grinning broadly at her.

"I have a surprise for you!"

"Can't you tell me later?" She said putting her arms around his neck. She was flushed and somewhat out of breath.

"Nooo you will love this!" He said laying a single kiss on her lips.

"What is it then?" She said reaching up and kissing him back.

"Would you accompany me to India? I want to visit our old houses and school." He asked excitedly!

"Oh wow really? I haven't been back home since I married Kabir! He never wanted to go. I miss mama and Papa so much!" She said hugging him tightly.

"Let's bury those days and start again. I promise everything will be amazing from now on."

"Dev?" Pari kept her arms locked around his neck and looked into his eyes.

"Hmmm?" He had trouble controlling himself with her so close. He leaned down to kiss her and this time he held her lips for longer, enjoying the closeness.

"I kept saying I love you, but you kept pushing me away. What happened and what changed?" She had been curious and confused for awhile and wanted answers before they progressed any further.

"Well..." he hesitated not wishing to dig the past up again. He didn't want her to think that he clung on to what happened.

"It's okay just be honest with me Dev..."

"I just kept remembering back then when you left...I thought maybe you would change your mind and leave again.." he confessed. She released her arms from around his neck and took his hands into hers.

"Dev, I know I hurt you so much when I left. I was young and wanted the world. Little did I realise that in gaining the world, I would lose one of the most important people in my life."

"Pari look, it's okay..."

"No let me finish. There wasn't a day when I didn't think about you. But I was scared to contact you again! I thought you were angry at me and then you had forgotten me. When I realised that my heart was back in India, it felt too late. So I tried to move on too. It was always you Dev - you are my best friend and everything. Trust me, I'm not going anywhere. I'm sorry." She said feeling terrible. Poor Dev was afraid she would abandon him - she knew she would never dream of it.

"I should have contacted you. I was so stubborn and  angry. I'm sorry Pari. I do trust you."

"I love you so much. I can't wait to go back home with you!" She said, finally feeling like everything was okay.

"I love you too."
