"Jennie! Are you even listening?" Jisoo asked her while snapping her fingers in front of her face.
The brown haired idol finally got out of her thoughts and looked up to see the sight of Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé looking at her with utensils in their hands about to continue eating.
Jennie and her members always stay in and eat together when they had the chance to especially when they aren't called in for a late night training session or studio session, this tradition started since their trainee days but has been paused for a while when Jennie was sulking about Kai. Now that she's doing better and maybe even got over him, she's been trying to hang out with her best friends more, but her mind wasn't in the right place tonight.
The girl couldn't think straight after the events of the picnic, after she was dropped off by the bodyguards. It was most likely because of Jeon Jungkook.
He gave her a wake up call that she couldn't just keep bottling up her negative feelings, he was her shoulder to cry on, literally.
Jennie always felt a certain way towards him, she couldn't explain it but she hasn't really felt it with anyone she's ever met before.
At first she thought it was just some connection with him that she had which was about hating everything Dispatch does but even when they weren't talking trash about the overflowing dump that was Dispatch, she still felt it.
After the moment he pulled her in to his warm and comforting embrace, letting her cry and not judging her for it, the feeling she had multiplied by a hundred.
Even though she pulled away, the feeling she had did not.
She wasn't crying because she missed her ex-boyfriend though, Jennie had just never properly learned how to let out her oppressed feelings. She hated how her relationship ended, she really did like Kai, but somehow expressing her feelings finally made her get over how their relationship ended.
It was thanks to Jungkook for teaching her to let her feelings out.
Now Jennie couldn't get the sight of Jungkook's smile out of her mind, not only that but his laugh, his voice and everything about him.
The girl knew that it was cliché to want to help out someone who helped her, but she wanted to be there for him like he was there for her.
"Oh sorry I was zoning out" Jennie told them truthfully earning a small giggle from Chaeyoung "That's weird, you usually eat almost as much as me but today you haven't even touched your plate" the platinum purple haired girl pointed out while looking at Jennie's full plate of mushroom Dakjuk or more commonly known as rice porridge.
The youngest shrugged, she's already full from all the food she had at the picnic and wasn't really in the mood for mushrooms.
"Already kind of full from the picnic" she explained to her friend who had stuffed a bunch of mushroom slices in her mouth as they were talking. "That's what I asked you before, how was the picnic?" Jisoo asked her.
The girl shrugged, "The picnic was... well what you'd expect a contract couple's media exploit picnic to be like" she replied to the question.
The oldest chortled at her response. She arched an eyebrow as she spooned some Dahjuk into her wooden spoon, "For a contract couple, you guys look really cute together" she mentioned making Jennie turn pale.
