MONROE

"Can't you just come with me for a little bit? It'll just be for the afternoon. Please Monroe" Reese pleaded "I'll pay for dinner"

"I can't Reese, I have to get the checks and balances done for the store and pick up the boys from school at three thirty." "I could try for the weekend if you wanted to go then?"

"Fine, let's plan for that and you all can come over for dinner afterwards. I think the huskers play a 6:30. Run it by Dex. I can get some of that wine that you like at Ray's Wine and Spirits." Reese said "oh, and I'm not sure what we can have for dinner but I'm sure you can whip something together" "If you want me to buy anything I can, but I just can't stomach making anything right now."

"No problem Reese, I can do that." "Don't worry, I'll run by the store after we shop Saturday for dinner."

"Well you made it last time let me at least pay for it then." Reese insisted

"Sounds good, I'll text you later." I said

I was at the desktop computer in the store and I hung up the phone with Reese and accidently dropped my cell phone on Millie's head while breastfeeding. She instantly detached herself and started crying. I felt incredibly bad. I quickly consoled her and finished up the books. I had plans to ween her soon but quickly satisfying her with breastmilk sometimes was just easier having to make sure the store ran smoothly.

Knowing true that Millie would be my last baby I felt such a motherly urge to keep her a baby as long as possible. I knew I couldn't stop her from growing up as all babies do but if breastfeeding her longer would make her seem more baby like then so be it.

Friday flew by as the week always did and when Saturday came I was looking forward to do some shopping with Reese and then dinner afterwards. I still couldn't get Kane's reaction out of my mind from the other weekend when I brought up the baby. I know it wasn't my place to discuss it but felt as if it wasn't me then who. Would I be able to get a chance to ask him again, or maybe I could ask Dex to ask him about it. But with Dex being the way he was and always treading lightly on "feelings" that was probably not the solution.

"That's cute on you, especially the blue cardigan." I said

"I don't know it kind of makes me look bigger." "I'm trying to avoid that" Reese said turning in a complete circle to look at her every angle.

"Reese, your one hundred fifteen pounds soaking wet, I don't think a flattering cardigan is going to make you look fat. Get real!" I said with frustration.

She really was thin. She never struggled with her weight as I felt I did. She never worked out or ate a well-balanced healthy diet and still looked thin and beautiful. Her figure always reminded me of the actresses that played in the late eighties early nineties movies. Like Goldie Hawn in Over Board or Julia Roberts figure in Sleeping with the Enemy. She had the perkiest medium large breast on top of her sleek figure. I never was jealous or envious of her body just because I knew even though I was a little heavier than she I was healthier. We would go up a flight of stairs and she would be winded when we got to the top and me breathing normal. I made an effort every day to do some form of weighted exercise. Nothing too strenuous or difficult but enough to keep the extra pounds at bay.

"Well maybe we can try the mall. I want to check out the Gap really quick." I said "but then we should really get back to start dinner for everyone" "we still need to swing by the grocery store to get dinner stuff." I said

"Plus, have you seen the prices on some of these outfits." I whispered to Reese as she was putting some outfits back on some hangers

"Reese, this maternity blouse is seventy nine dollars." "And that's on sale." I said cringing
