23. Someone's odd Christmas event...

That day was suppose to be Christmas but you never thought that day would come when you were left speechless.

That day was the day of your cousin's wedding to her childhood sweatheart, Jay.

As you and your cousin, Railey, were close, you automatically offered your help for her wedding. You two when young were very close together with Ryo but soon became less in contact ever since that day(another day). But you two still have a good cousin relationship. Although she rarely talks to you on the phone , she gave you and Ryo some money every 2 months to support the both of you. Even though you wanted to spend Christmas with Akashi, you wanted to help her in return.

However, being (your age somewhere 15-16 if not imagine) , you were considered too old to be a flower girl and yet not old enough to be a bridesmaid.

However , your cousin considered you as her "fashion guru" when young, she gave you task of ensuring that all the bridesmaids were dressed to perfection.

You received the invitation in a week earlier before the wedding and your cousin phoned you about it.

You also have asked her if you could bring someone out to the wedding with you. Her response was a quick yes.

That someone , you might have guessed who it was ,Akashi .

On that day , you ,Ryo and Akashi went to the wedding desination, the church . You decided to go to the makeup room to go and check the other bridesmaids . Akashi and Ryo were informed and they went ahead to seat on the pew.

While you were talking to one of the eight bridesmaids , your cousin came behind and whispered, " watch out for Meiling," as she pointed to one of the bridesmaid whose expression could curdle milk.

" Expect her to be difficult and opinionated ."

In confusion, you asked your cousin," then why is she your bridesmaid?"

She then explained to you that Meiling was the girlfriend of Jay's second best friend. You nodded understandingly and thanked her for the head up .

This begin your job of making sure of that every bridesmaid was picture perfect.

You had to pin up their hair nicely into a bun and attach bunches of fresh flowers with the use of bobby pins to ensure they stay in place. You will have to zip up their form fitting dress .

All the bridesmaid were appreciative and grateful of your hard-work and thanked you , except Meiling...

What your cousin said was very true, she was the toughest baby to ever handle.

When you pinned her hair, she snapped at you saying that you have pinned it too tight. and we when you tried to attach the flowers , she would continuously fidget and move around.

Unsurprisingly, when you tried to zip up her dress , she yelped in pain and accused you of being clumsy and allowing the zipper to bite her skin.

At this point , you were exasperated and close to giving up but you it on your tongue and refrained from commenting because you did not want your cousin's wedding to be ruined.

With five more minutes till the wedding march, you gathered the eight bridesmaids and positioned them in two rows behind your cousin ,who looked polished and immaculate .

Suddenly to everyone's horror, Meiling shoved her bouquet of flowers to the bridesmaid next to her and said," be right back ! I need to take a leak!" In her obnoxious voice, and clattered noisily away with her high heels.

Everyone looked flabbergasted and anxiously waited for her return.

Your cousin thanked you for your hardwork ,told you not to worry and made your way to the church ahead of them. To your relief , when the bridal march begin, you saw from your seat in the last pew together with Akashi and Ryo that Meiling had returned.
