I marched out of the restaurant and towards the Jeep with Gabriel behind me and Cal trying to keep up with our pace.

"Then I'm coming with you." I glanced at him and unlocked the car before climbing in.

"Suit yourself." I started the engine and once they were all in I sped out of the car park and back towards my home. "Connect my phone to the Jeep and call Vern." I told Gabriel as I handed him the device and he did as I asked.

"Amber, you shouldn't be calling me." He answered in a sing song voice and I pressed harder on the accelerator.

"I'm going to do what I should have done. Call Nevin tell him I need him." He was silent for a while.

"If Mr. Alpha did something let me know." I slammed my hand against the steering wheel.

"It's not him. I ran into Cal."

"Baby Cal?" He asked.

"I'm not letting it happen again." I took a deep breath.

"I'll call Chris and I'll meet you at the house. We'll need the jet."

"Okay." I hung up.

"Julie?" I glanced in the rear view mirror.

"I'm sorry Cal but I'm going to fix this." He was frowning and I mashed harder.

"Fix what?" I took a deep breath.

"The Julie you know, she isn't real." I told him softly.

"What are you talking about? You're right in front of me and you're even wearing the same perfume. Your name is Julie Tiffany Wilson and you're my step-mom. You worked as a Dental Hygienist and that's where you met my dad."

"That's true, but that's not who I really am. My name is Amber and I'm more than a Dental Hygienist. The only thing true about Julie is her love for you and Melissa and that will never change." He was silent.

"Why did you do it?" His tone suggested he was the calm before the storm. "Did you need money?"

"No, I liked your father and when he proposed I thought I was going to have a good time. Stay until he died, move to another country, mourn his death then start over again." I shrugged. "I never anticipated we would get divorced or I would love you guys so much."

"You've done this before?" I sighed heavily as I pulled up in front of the house.

"I'm older than you think." I hopped out and Nevin opened the door and stood there staring at Cal.

"Mom?" He asked and I looked around.

"Where's Vern?"

"Don't get your panties in a bunch, I'm right here." I rolled my eyes and walked over to Nevin and caressed his cheek.

"Will you come with me?" He looked at Cal again and sank into my touch.

"I'll do anything for you." I smiled and pulled the chain off and turned to Cal.

"You're going to have to wear this." He stared at me as though I had grown a second head before taking a step back.

"I'm not going to do that."

"Do you trust me?" I asked softly and his eyes watered as he glanced at the ground.

"I don't know who to trust." He whispered softly and I placed my hand on his cheek.

"I have never and I will never hurt you." He stared at my face before nodding and I placed the chain around his neck and smiled. "Please protect him." I looked back at Gabriel. "Are you coming?" He gave me a smile and shrugged.

"I'm scared of what trouble you'll get into if I'm not right there with you." I nodded and turned to Vern.

"To the jet." The scent of burning paper filled the room and we distorted as we teleported from the lakeside to the outside of the airport.

"How?" Cal was looking around stunned and I grabbed his hand and entered the airport. I moved to the front of the line and the hostess there stared at me as though she didn't know how she could help me.

"Name, Amber George; password, beta123." She stared at me and I stared at her until she began plugging it into the computer. Her eyes bugged out and she stood abruptly.

"This way Ms. George." I led Cal after the woman and the rest of the small party followed us to the tarmac to the awaining jet. I got in and took my seat and Cal took his seat away from me.

"Good night, can I ask your destination to tell the pilot?"

"New Jersey, no stops." She nodded her head and walked off and Cal and Gabriel stared at me as though it as their first time seeing me.

"Do you have shares in the airport?" Vern snorted.

"She owns the airline." I took a deep breath and relaxed on my seat.

"Get comfortable, at first dawn things will no longer be the same."
