And, no, I did not get this idea from Harry Potter, even though I am a fan!*
My days started off normal. I went to school and sat in each boring class. Got home using my bike, got the mail, went inside to start doing my homework, only to eventually find some excuse and procrastinate through it. I would watch T.V. or play video games online with some friends. Normal things for a normal teen. If anything really stood out from my life, it was I was top of my cross country team, and in advanced classes, but not at the top. But ever since I was young, that was just a part of my life. I guess it really didn't count as being out of the ordinary for my own standards.
This was not a 'normal' day for me.
I'm Brian. I am now fifteen. I attend a normal, public high school in my hometown. I am in social groups and attend church normally. I'm your everyday crazy, annoying person who cares for others and likes to party. I flirt, joke, and get good grades. I am now just over five foot and a half. But, who cares what I look like? Just picture a sexy, tall, teen in your bed! I mean head! The brow hair has an electric blue and blood red highlight swiped to the left. I also have a bony structure. No sexual pun intended... Ladies!!! But, let us please move on from this stupid details that nobody cares about except for my ginormous ego. Allow me to continue with the story that is... Magic!
I had just got home from school and was getting the mail. I opened the mailbox, and reached in when a glint of gold caught my eye. 'What is this?' I thought to myself while I reached for it. I saw the golden letter. It was glowing, as if it was a light source. I could see that it was about the size of a normal letter. I looked at the back. It read:
'To the guardians of Brian Crain, Important Information!'
And It was from some place I have never heard of:
'Magic High School'
What the hell was this? I sighed. Even though I didn't know the damn company or what they wanted, but I was probably in trouble. Did I not mention, I'm also a quite troublesome young man. I sighed deeply as the breeze seemed to do the same. I walked up my driveway to my house. It was a good sized house. Blue on the outside with a brick chimney. The chimney itself was never used and only provided cold drafts if the breeze was too bad during the winter. I walked in through the garage and I handed the letter to my mom. I began to head off to my room, through the kitchen. My mom gave a huge sigh.
'I'm in trouble' I thought to myself. But, my mom didn't say what I had expected her to say.
"Brian, you need to open it," my mom said. I turned around and walked back to the couch. Mom handed me the letter, I looked at her in the eyes. I looked down now at the golden letter, and I felt goosebumps scatter up and down my arms. I carefully opened it. I opened it and, there was nothing. No papers or anything. I turned it upside down.
"Mom, there's nothing," I said when all of a sudden, the envelope grew to the size of a car, forcing me to let it fall to the ground. I fell down, startled, and I started to scoot back.
"Brian, the truth will be told to you soon," Then, the envelope moved at me and it ate my feet. My body began to get swallowed whole. There was no pain, but fear.
"Mom!" I cried out. "Help me!"
"I love you Brian!" my mom said. She smiled at me as though nothing was wrong.
