"Well," Carly stated as we walked down a small flight of stairs, pointing down another hallway. "This will lead us to the grand staircase!"

"How many damn staircases are there?" I asked.

"At least a hundred!" Carly smiled. I was guessing I'd get lost multiple times before I got the hang of this layout. We continued walking until we got to a wider hallway. Was that all this freaking school was? Hallways? Hallways? And more hallways? Besides the overused, damned hallways in this school, Carly and I had manahed to make it to the grand staircase. We walked down to a large area that was the commons. I looked around to see a lot of students, battling. Firing spells at eachother.

"Frigidus incantatores!" I heard one kid cry as his blue misted spell froze his opponent in place.

"Ignis Incantamenta!" A girl yelled, and his spell caught the other boy on fire.

"Ahhhh!!!" The boy on fire cried out as he burned. "What the hell?"

"Well, I'm sorry you look hot when you're on fire babe!" The girl said, biting her lip. She and the boy kissed as flames engulfed them.

'What the hell?' I asked myself. 'How the hell can they make out, on the ground, while they're on freaking fire?'

"What the hell is wrong with this school? Is that what you're wondering?" Carly asked as we kept walking these crazy battles. I dodged two spells that almost hit me.

"Yes," I responded. Carly smiled at me. I flushed, as her smile was gorgeous and she did it in what I assumed to be a flirty way.

"Venenum Iaculat!" Another spell was fired. The green, visible gas went into the enemies mouth and up into their nasal cavity, causing them to gag a bit and they looked diseased. I wondered if the guy had just been poisoned.

"Well," Carly began. "You see, couples fight all the time by dueling so that the chances of them breaking up decreases!"

"Now that's... Magic!" I chuckled. (Thank you! I'll be here all night! Title joke! Bad pun, sorry won't do a title pun again... maybe...)

"Yes it is," Carly sighed. "However, that didn't work for me and my ex-boyfriend." Carly looked at the kid hit by the green gas drink a purple-colored liquid from an odd shaped bottle and he regained his composure, readying his own wand.

"I'm sorry," I said, feeling slightly bad for her.

"It's fine," Carly sighed again. "He was a complete douche-bag anyway!" She then had a smile return to her face.

"How many douches are at this school? There has to be a group. I know every school has them." I asked.

"Not many, maybe five or six. But we don't bring up their names, fights always start." Carly responded in a sad tone.

"A wizard, spell, fight thing?" I asked as we walked around another battle that consisted of eight people.

"You mean duels. But no, fist fights," Carly said, dodging a ricocheted spell

"I wouldn't last long," I said. I did have a weak build. No muscle.

"I bet you could do some damage!" Carly smiled, looking up and down my body. I blushed at the comment. Definitely a confidence boost.

"Shut up!" I said quickly.

"Hmph!" Carly laughed a bit.

"Anyway, the tour!" I said. Carly waved her hand at me and walked ahead fast. I caught up to her in a cafeteria. Students crowded around all the table, eating some cool looking fruits and colorful drinks and weird food.
