In this world, pain is inevitable. Whether it comes from a friend, a loved one, or even a stranger, it stings just the same. But perhaps, in each wound, there's a subtle reminder—a reminder of the deeper longing within us. We seek perfection in imperfect people, hoping they won't hurt or disappoint. Yet, when they do, it whispers to our hearts: there is only one relationship that will never fail us, one bond that will never wound—our connection with God.
These past few days, I've been wrestling with disappointment. People I once held close have revealed sides of themselves I couldn't ignore. Slowly, I've started closing doors, cutting ties, and saying goodbye—not out of anger, but out of necessity. I've been removing the toxic ones, those who only bring pain or drain the life from me. It's hard, but I realize it's part of the journey to find peace, to make space for those who uplift and to nurture my relationship with the one who never disappoints.
In this shedding of what no longer serves, I'm learning that letting go of those who harm me isn't a loss—it's a step toward wholeness.
