Water Has Memory...

Y/N POV*

"Kayasumi-sensei...!" I rushed over to him. "What happened? Who did this?!" I yelled, tears cascading down my face.

"Y/N..." Kayasumi-sensei breathed out as a waterfall of salty tears flow down to the floor boards.
I answered a hoarse 'yes' as I looked at my beloved teacher.

"I'm proud of you... My successor- no, My daughter." Kayasumi-sensei looked at me with compassion and affection in his eyes as he held my hand and intertwined his fingers around mine.

"Take care of him and pass down the breath of the snow for me..." Kayasumi-sensei whispered with a tear down his eye.

"Sayonara... Y/N-chan." He breathed out his final breath as his fingers slowly slip out of mine.

"Sensei..?"

"Sensei!"

"Sensei!!!"

I wept down and took his figure in my arms, cradling him as I burry my face in his chest as I sobbed helplessly knowing he would never wake up again.

I placed my forehead on his, and whispered,
"Arigato, Sensei..."

"I promise with my heart and soul to pass down the breath of the snow to future generations, and to find out whom did this to you."

"I promise."

"Sensei!-" I cried out.

Oh.

I sit up on my futon, feeling tears on my cheeks as I recently received the same nightmare I have been having for the past few years.

I sighed as I made my way down to the Butterfly estate to have breakfast with Shinobu and Kanao.

"Ohayo-Gozaimasu,Y/N-chan~" Shinobu sweetly greeted me as Kanao smiled and quietly stared at me.

"Ohayo Shinobu-chan, Kanao-chan." I greeted them back.

I made my way inside and sat on the takumi mats as Sumi, Kiyo and Naho prepared the three of us Salmon onigiri and Miso-soup.

"Itadaki-masu." I chirped as the triplets poured us a cup of matcha.

We quietly began eating.
Then, Shinobu asked out of the blue.

"Y/N-chan, your eyes are pretty swollen. Have you been crying again?"

I sighed as I finished my onigiri, grabbing a spoon and dipping it in the soup.

"What's wrong Y/N-senpai?" Kanao asked me.

I blinked in response as I felt the soft, silky texture of tofu on my tongue.

"I had that dream... Again." I shortly explained.

Shinobu's expression changed as the creamy flavour of soy disspered in my mouth.

"It's been 2 years Shinobu."

"I haven't even found out who murdered him either." I said as I closed my eyes to take a spoonful of soup and nori seaweed.

"Cheer up Y/N. We'll find him eventually." Shinobu reassures me.

'Thank you Shinobu-chan...' I mentally thanked her.

As the three of us finished our meal, Sumi gently tapped my shoulder and handed me a red box.

I carefully open the package, and saw that there were a stacks of freshly cut honey-combs.

"Thank you, Sumi-chan." I smiled.

"You're welcome, Y/N-senpai! I also suggest to eat it if you're feeling tired!" She says.

I nodded and trotted down to the Snow estate to change into my uniform and to grab my nichirin blade.

*Timeskippy again~*

It was 10 am in the morning as I made my way to Shinazugawa-san's dojo.

I usually borrow the area on Monday's and Thursday's to train my 2 tsuguko's.

As I slid the screen door, my students greeted my happily.

"Ohayo-gozaimasu, Y/N-sensei!"

"Ohayo, Yukio-kun, Sakuro-kun." I smiled.

'Yukio Kojima and Sakuro Tsuyoshi. My two beloved students who never fail to make me smile...'

"Sensei, what are we going to be learning today?" Yukio asked me.

I snapped out of my short daze and pat my tsuguko's heads.

"Have you both warmed-up yet?" I asked.

"Yes, Sensei." They chorused.

"Then today, I'll be teaching you the 6 breath styles of Snow."

"Ha'i!" They both say excitedly.

*A few minutes later pass~*

"Fix your stance, Yukio." I lectured him.

"Ha'i, Sensei!" He complied.

"Y/N-Sensei, Y/N-Sensei!!!" Sakuro called me.

"Yes, Sakuro-kun?"

"Tomioka-Sensei is at the door. He says he's searching for you." He explains to me.

'Now what would that Water Hashira want now?' I mentally asked.

"Keep on training while I get the door."

I made my way to the screen door and answered the door.

"What do you want?"
