Between Water and Snow (Tomioka Giyuu X Reader)

Explanation.

Y/N's POV.

"Y/N!" Giyuu yells as he hugs me, as Mitsuri smirked and looked at me.

Giyuu helps me inside as Mitsuri took care of Lilian.

"Now, please explain." I say to Lilian as Giyuu tends to my wounds, dousing them with alcohol.

Lilian's POV.

I sigh.

"Before you trained under Kayasumi, he had another student..."

"That student was me." I started off.

Y/N looked at me in disbelief as I continued my story.

"I trained under him for two and a half years."
"I thought I was going to easily become his successor as I had managed to learn the first four breathing techniques within six months."

"But something happened when I attempted to learn the fifth technique."
"I spent two years trying to get ahold of the technique yet to no avail."

"After seeing that I was a lost cause, Kayasumi let go of me."
"And on that day, I broke down in tears and ran inside a forest, waiting for a demon to kill me, as all my hopes and dreams had been crushed in an instant."

"But right as my life was about to end, I met another Hashira. The one you all know as the former Hellfire Hashira, Aiden Haruna." I breath out.

"He took me in and trained my endlessly until I had become the new Hellfire Hashira."
"Yet I had not been debuted into a Hashira and he wasn't satisfied enough."
"He went his way to devise a plan, to murder Kayasumi."

"I begged him not to, as he was my former sensei and I still loved him."
"Yet I was abused and I had to agree with him." I explain as I revealed my scars to Y/N.

"Right as Haruna-sensei lost the duel, he had another plan, which was to poison him."

She gasps and furrows her brows.

"I had to do it, Y/N." I say tearing up.

"I'm sorry Y/N." I apologize as I look down in shame.

For the second time tonight, I felt Y/N's arms wrapped around my frame as I bursted all of my bottled up emotions.

Giyuu's POV

"She's broken out of her shell hasn't she?" Mitsuri whispers to me.

I nodded in silence as I saw the two embrace each other.

"But he's going to try eliminate you after this." Lilian says as she pulled away from Y/N's embrace.

Y/N sighed and looked down.

"You're the Hellfire Hashira right?" Y/N asks her.

"You know the answer to that." Lilian retorts.

"I'm just making sure that the breath of Hellfire still lives on through you."
Y/N explains.

Lilian tilts her head in confusion and suddenly clicks.

"Revenge." Lilian says.

"For Kayasumi-sensei." The two chorus.

Y/N's POV.

"Giyuu." I say.

"I know you want to follow me into this battle but I can't let you get involved with this." I explain.

Right as Giyuu tried to interject, I cut him off.

"I need you, Lilian and Mitsuri to report of this to Ubuyashiki." I say to him.

"But what proof do we have?" Giyuu asks.

"This." Lilian says as she pulls out a hand-written note with plans to kill Kayasumi.

I smile.

"Giyuu. I want you to tell you something in case if I don't make it."

"Don't say that!" He yells.

"Don't make this the last time you see me." He says quoting me.

I sigh.

"I want to thank you for that night." I say to him smiling.

"Because of you, I was able to break out of my cold shell."

"Tsuki ga kirei desu ne?" I say to him.

Mitsuri then squeals as Giyuu hugs me.

"I have to go take care of Haruna now." I say.

"Sayonara."
