I have caged a bird in me,
It weeps and shatters me within
Breaking down each emotion, each feeling;
Reminding the worst memories.
The things I did, or that happened to me
Or the things, I let happened to me.
This bird is not lovely.
It's voice, though sweet, is not pleasing.
It shouts in the name of singing,
In a melancholy tone, it creates catastrophes;
And soon when the storm is rolling
And the clouds are darkening,
It flies away and hides—
Leaving me.
As if, my body didn't provide it
As if, my body didn't conceal it
As if,
I was not the victim.———
