When Dipper woke up, he wasn't in the basement.

He wasn't in Bill's house.

He wasn't in the hospital.

And he wasn't in any sort of unfamiliar location like he expected.

When Dipper woke up, he woke up in his own bed, in his own room, in the Mystery Shack.

His head felt fuzzy. As if he had been sleeping for a very long time.

He looked down and saw he was in a red t-shirt and boxers.

He looked around and saw his hat sat on his desk, as well as a large number of papers, the one on top being one of Mabel's missing posters.

That's when things started coming back to him.

Mabel!

He shot out of bed, quickly pulling on a pair of black sweat pants that had been lying on the floor.

He ran downstairs and burst into the kitchen and found it empty.

He quickly checked all the rooms in the mystery shack, but found every room empty, including Ford's secret room.

When he checked Mabel's room he noticed that nothing had changed whatsoever. There was still a layer of dust covering everything. It was as if it hadn't even been touched.

Dipper quickly stepped outside and noticed that Stan's car was missing from its usual spot. However, Soos' car was parked out there.

Dipper ran over to it, noticing the keys in the ignition.

If they haven't brought Mabel home yet, then the only place she could logically be is the hospital, right?

He got in the car and turned it on and pulled out of the Mystery Shack.

He parked Soos' car in the parking lot of the hospital and ran inside, almost forgetting the car keys.

He made his way to the front desk. He slammed his hands on the front desk, scaring the receptionist.

"Can I help you?" The receptionist asked.

"Mabel Pines!" Dipper quickly demanded.

"I'm sorry?" The receptionist asked, unable to understand Dipper.

"Mabel Pines...I'm looking for Mabel Pines..." Dipper said, slower and slightly out of breath.

"Oh. Let me check." The receptionist said. She looked down at her computer, typing something in. Then she looked back up at Dipper.

"She's in room 6-18, it's on the second floor. Go down the left hall, past the waiting room, and to the elevators. There are signs pointing to which way each rooms are-" The receptionist said. She kept talking but Dipper was already walking away.

He walked towards the elevator quickly. Practically punching the button.

He got in the elevator, selecting the second floor, impatiently tapping his foot to the crappy elevator music which suspiciously sounded like the mii channel song.

Once to doors opened again he sprinted down the halls, finding room 6-18.

Just as he was about to open the door, memories hit him like a truck.

At first, he had only remembered what had happened to Mabel, but as soon as he touched the doorknob, he started to remember what else had happened.

Bill...oh God...

He felt tears begin to form.

Bill had bled out in his arms that night. Dipper felt his breathing cease. There was no way he had survived.

Dipper roughly wiped the tears from his face.

I don't have time to think about that. Mabel has been missing for over a year and we found her. I can mourn for Bill later. I need to be strong for once.

He pushed back his emotions and slowly opened the door.

Mabel was sitting up in her hospital bed, an IV hooked up to her arm. She looked way better than she did the night of the rescue. Ford, Stan, Soos, and Wendy all standing there next to her bed. Dipper also noticed his parents standing in the room too. But he didn't look at them.

Mabel and Him locked eyes, he rushed forward, pushing past his family and friends to give her a hug.

They stayed embraced for a moment.

"I was so worried this was all a dream," Dipper mumbled, as they hugged.

"That makes two of us," Mabel responded.

The two of them parted.

"How are you feeling?" Dipper asked.

"Better. The doctors have me on a dietary plan. Pretty much everything nutritious without any dairy. I'm just glad I'm not on a feeding tube anymore." Mabel said.

"Feeding tube? When were you using a feeding tube?" Dipper asked.

"The last three days. Since I got here pretty much." Mabel said.

"Three days!?" Dipper said, astonished, "I've been out for three days?"

"Yeah, you passed out in the creepy basement a little after we came in. We figured you were injured and we didn't notice so we took the three of you here. They said it was just stress and exhaustion so Soos dropped you off at the house so you could sleep in your own bed." Stan said.

"The three of us...Bill...is he?" Dipper managed.

Stan stood up, saying nothing, just gesturing for Dipper to follow him.

Dipper followed Stan as they walked down the hallway and turned down another hall, neither of them saying a word.

Eventually, they reached a door with a large window looking into the room.

In the hospital bed was Bill, he was laying there peaceful, his eyes closed.

He was dressed in a hospital gown, his wounds covered in bandages.

"He's..."

Stan cut Dipper off by placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Not dead. But he's in a coma. And the chance of him waking up aren't good."

-(-(-(-(-)-)-)-)-)-

God, I'm evil.

First I make you think he's dead, then I bring him back only to reveal he's in a coma??

I truly am heartless, aren't I?

To be honest, I had no idea if I was going to kill him or not.

Since I wrote the last chapter, I've been going back and forth debating on how I wanted to move forward with the story.

I have a vague idea now if where I want to go. This story is almost over and I want to go out with a depressing but still good bang!

Anyway, I'll update soon, I want to finish this so I can spend more time on Stripper AU and my new book The Quiet Kid.

So yeah, hope you know how much I love to toy with the emotions of my readers because angst is what fuels my optimistic depression 😂
