He was the one to tell me everything was going to be okay. He was the one to tell me my parents death wasn't my fault. He was the one that everybody trusted. He was the one that killed my family. He was the one who killed me.

I took the photos and placed them on the reception desk at the police station. It was only just day light and only one officer was there. I pushed a dirty mug off of the desk. His head shot up and he quickly made his way over to the shards of coffee stained mug. He slowly began to pick up the pieces continuing with caution, just like he would soon be with my murder case. I looked down at my right hand that held my police file and grasped it tighter.
I slowly walked over to the officers desk and placed my file over top of his other work. They need to become interested again. I took a sticky note and began to write 'REVIEW' in capitol letters. I stuck it to the folders front and went to leave before something caught my eye.
A police badge was lying straight in front of me with a sticky note attached to it. I picked up the badge and removed the note to read it. 'Don't give up Ten, three people here know the truth. Two of which my be dead. You, me and your killer. He's closer than you think. ~ Scarlett.'
Me and my sister may not have gotten along much but we were always there for each other when we needed to be. When my sister died along with our parents I thought she was gone forever. I thought she had passed on. But maybe, just maybe she never left. Maybe she was stuck in the between like Xavier, Briar and I. Maybe she just hadden't found the physical place of the between and was stuck on earth.
I then closely looked at the badge to see it belonged to this police station and that it wasn't too new or too old. I turned it over and examined the back to find that it had initials carved into it, most likely so it could be recognized as one of the officers.
The initials were 'J.D'. What did 'J.D' stand for? Who did it belong to? I quickly walked over to the wall of officers they had always had. A new set of photos were placed each year including all of the staff photos and names. I hovered my finger above the glass of the giant frame and moved it across all of the photos looking for a name that included the initials J.D. Half way through the names I found what appeared to be the only name that could be those initials.

Once I had arrived back to the between with Xavier I noticed that Briar was once again not there. But that's fine, she has her own after life. I had explained everything that had happened in the last few hours to Xavier. I even showed him the sticky note. He was more than surprised when I had told him it was Scarlett that had given me the clue.
"So Scarlett never left then?" I shook my head.
"She must've not wanted to leave me alone. I have noticed a few things she had messed with over the time I was alive. But I suppose she saw what happened to me when I died. She wants to help me realize the truth Xavier." He took my hand in his and just sat there in silence, knowing that I needed a moment to take in everything. "I can't believe I am so close to finding out what happened to me after all this time." I sat my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. Now that I know who murdered me that night all I have to do is remember.
"Tenley, you know what you have to do now, right?" Xavier moved to sitting in front of me in one quick movement. I nodded my head staring into his glowing eyes. He took hold of both of my hands and gave them a reassuring squeeze. "Lets find Scarlett."
