Chapter 14

"What are you doing here" I say coming around the counter to hug Tobias who surprised me with flowers and coffee.

"I thought I would come and surprise you" he says holding my waist and I can't help but leave a small kiss on his lips.

Tobias and I have been dating again for 3 months now. Lisa and him are in the process of their divorce. Rosie is taking this better than I thought.

When I'm over Tobias's apartment while she's over we always get along. She never wants to leave Tobias's apartment and go back home but they haven't talked about who has full custody yet.

There's been moments where I question if this is my fault? Did I wreck this family apart but I try not to think that way.

"Tobias" I giggle as he leans down and kisses my neck.

"Do you want to come home with me this weekend" he asks

"Yes. You know I love your apartment" I tell him

"I mean home home. To my parents house. It's my dad's birthday so they are having a dinner" he asks and I sigh

"You know I hate being the girl that broke up your marriage" I say pulling away from him and he pulls me back

"You're not that girl. You know that my family loves you. You know that's not how they see you" he says

"I know. I just feel bad sometimes" I say and he kisses my head

"This isn't your fault. It's mine" he says and I hug him

The front door opens and Kyle walks in.

"Hey Kyle what's up" I say and he looks at the arm Tobias has wrapped around my waist.

"I've been craving one of those special strawberry tarts you used to make me. I thought I would come over and pick one up but I didn't know you had company" he says and I unwrap Tobias's arm from my waist and head back behind the counter.

"I can make some real quick" I tell Kyle and he gives me a smile

"That would be great" He says

Kyle liked me a lot. He's cute and we had sex a few times but I never really liked him back. I feel bad for using him.

"I hear you're selling the place" Kyle asks

"Yeah she already has a place set up back at home. She's finally coming back home where she belongs" Tobias answers for me

"Last time I checked I wasn't talking to you and the reason she left home was because of you" Kyle spits back

"You're just upset you'll never have her" Tobias says

"Tobias" I say annoyed

"Oh don't worry I've had her, I've had her many times before you came along" Kyle says and I groan

"Okay this conversation is done" I say

"Kyle leave, I'll deliver the tarts later" I tell him and he leaves annoyed.

"What was that" I say turning to Tobias

"I don't like that guy" he says

"I can tell" I say

"He clearly has a huge crush on you" he adds and I sigh

"That doesn't matter to me. I only care about you, that's all that should matter" I say to him and he nods pulling me close

"I'm sorry. I should be the bigger person" He says and I nod

"I love you" he adds

"I love you too" I say back and look up at him

He leans down and cups my face as we kiss.

He moves me onto the counter but I quickly hop off and stop him.

"Not in my store" I say and he chuckles

"Fine but you're all mine when we get back to my place" he says

"I'm totally okay with that" I say and begin to make the strawberry tarts for Kyle
