It's about Alec lightwood coming out to his family, and protecting his siblings from a family secret that has burdened him longer than he can remember. In order to keep his siblings safe, he relies on the help of Magnus Bane. A stranger he meets in the coffee shop may just be the key unlock his happiness. Or he could well be dynamite that blows up his whole world.
