Mistakes~ Matthew Daddario

"Lydia Sherwood. So glad to see your awake."
I smile and she grins.
"How long was I out?"
I question curiously.
"7 days. That's extremely fast considering the extent of the accident."
She says encouragingly and I nod. I frown to myself, remembering the crash.
"And Maddison Daddario? Is she okay?"
"Shes fine. The car didn't hit the side of the car she was sat in, so she didn't have any serious injuries. A minor concussion and a few bruises is all." She explains and I smile.
"Lydia!"
Dom say embracing me gently. Though the hug was only light, it sent an immense amount of pain down my body, stopping at my waist.
"Hey big bro."
I smile at everyone and Em grins at me.
"Okay lydia, your blood pressure is quite low. So I'm going to need you to have a higher amount of salt for a couple of weeks. Try soup ,pizza, pasta, anything dairy. And try and stay as hydrated as possible. That will help. I also need to discuss the surgery you had while in your coma." I nod to tell her to continue.
"So when the accident occurred, you developed temporary generalised bilateral paraplegia. Which means a nerve in your spinal system was damaged. That nerve controls the movement of your legs and feet. We have operated on the nerve, but you will require physical therapy and a wheel chair for about 2 months before you regain any feeling or control of your legs."
She explains and I nod, looking away from my very intimate eye contact with Matt. I frown, realising this means I wont be able to dance. "Thank you so much Dr Lowe."
I say and she nods.
"We'd like to keep you here at least for today if possible, just for precaution. Then you will be able to go home. I'll get your wheelchair arranged for you as soon as possible and I'll fit you in for physical therapy in the morning okay?"
She says and I nod. She picks up her clipboard and leaves the room. Everyone is silent and looking at me. "Sup guys?"
I ask and Dom huffs.
"You've been in a coma for a week. What do you think is up?"
He says and I frown.
"Sorry to have worried you guys. Hows Maddie doing?"
I ask Matt and he smiles.
"Shes doing great. She didn't want to leave you, though. Alex had to go back to NYC to see my sister."
He explains and I nod.
"Could I call her?"
I ask hopefully with a grin and he chuckles.
"You just woke up from a coma and that's what your worried about?"
"We'll go down to the cafè and get you a coffee and a sandwich, yeah? Give you a minute to talk."
Dom says and Em grins at him. Everyone leaves the room and Matt looks at me sheepishly. I tap the bed next to me and he smiles, sitting down.
"How you feeling?"
He asks and I shrug.
"Sore. But I'll recover."
I smile and he frowns.
"I'm sorry about your dance."
He says and I mirror his expression. "Me too. But it's okay. I have some pretty amazing people to keep me company."
I smile and he grins.
"Here."
He presses the video icon and waits for alex to pick up.
"Hey bro, what's up?"
He fake frowns and shrugs.
"Not much. But, theres someone here who wants a word with Maddie."
He says and I grin. I hear alex walking into a room and then her talking to Maddie.
"Maddie, uncle Matt's on the phone." She says and Maddie comes running. "Uncle matt, hey. Hows Lydia?" She asks quickly and he smiles handing me the phone.
"Hey maddie!"
I cheer and she screams.
"Lydia, your awake! Are you okay? You looked super poorly when we left."
She says and I smile.
"I'm okay. The doctors putting me in a wheelchair, so I get to ride around everywhere."
I grin jokingly and she laughs.
"Can I sing you something?"
She asks and I nod with a huge smile.

When she finishes singing I am in tears and all of the guys are stood at the door, tears in their eyes too.
"That was beautiful. Thank you Maddie."
I say and she grins at me.
"You haven't met Lola! Looooola. Come her baby."
She whistles before a beautiful golden retriever comes bounding towards her.
"Shes gorgeous."
I grin and Maddie laughs as she licks her face.
"Listen, Lydia has got to go now. She needs to eat, but I'll call you on Mommy's birthday okay? Bye!"
He says and we all shout bye as he hangs up.
"We got you a ham and salad."
He says handing it to me.
"Thank you."
I say taking a bite. I suddenly realise how hungry I really am. He hands me a bottle of water and I basically down it in one.
"Okay boys. I'm just as happy that Lydia's awake as anyone, but you need to get to work. Me and Em will stay with her for now, okay?"
Harry says and they both nod. Dom comes over and hugs me before going to the door. Matt kisses me on the forehead and follows after Dom. "We'll be back in a few hours okay?" Dom says and I nod, waving goodbye. My face is still a dark shade of crimson after they have left. "Sooooo...you and Matt?"
Em asks and I shake my head.
"Not yet. But I'm going to tell him how I feel about him soon. When i get out of here maybe."
"Great. So you two finally get together, that will do you both good. You need a bit of good in this sea of bad, biscuit." He smiles and I nod.
"But on the bright side, at least I'll recover. At some point."
I sigh and Em grins at me.
"So, did you dream in there?"
She asks and I then explain all about my talk with Quinn.
