Mistakes~ Matthew Daddario

"Cut, that it for today guys."
The director says so we all start walking towards our trailers. My phone starts ringing, so I answer immediately.
"Hello?"
I say into the phone.
"Is this Matthew Daddario?"
Says a woman on the other end.
"Yeah, that's me. Who is this?" Everyone stops to look at me.
"I'm from Toronto Western Hospital. I'm afraid ther has been an accident involving Lydia Sherwood and Maddison Daddario. Are you able to get to the hospital?" She says politely and I freeze. "What happened?"
I say sharply, tears in my eyes.
"A crash. Their was a car, speeding and crossing a red light. He drove right into the side of their car."
She explains, and by now everyone has stopped and is looking at me. "I'll be right there."
I say, my voice cracking at the end as I hang up.
"Dom, we need to go. Now! Toronto western hospital. Lydia and Maddie were in a crash."
I rush and Dom's eyes widen. Everyone runs to our cars, well there cars because Lydia was driving mine. In the end, Alberto drove me,Dom, Em and Kat to the hospital, as we were the only ones there when I got the call. When we arrive at the hospital, I run inside. "Maddison Daddario and Lydia Sherwood?"
I say quickly and she looks me in the eyes.
"Please wait in the waiting room, doctor Lowe will be with you shortly."
She says so we all go and sit in the waiting room.
"I can't believe this." Dom shakes his head, tears in his eyes too.
"I'm sure they are fine."
Kat assures us and Em nods.
"We don't know how severe the crash was. It could have just been a bump."
Em says and I nod. But my stomach drops when I see the doctor heading our way.

Dom's POV
"Matthew Daddario?"
The nurse says and we all look at him. "You can go and see her. Shes going to be fine."
She smiles at me and I nod.
"What about my sister?"
I say on edge. I had a bad feeling.
"Why dont we all go in, and I'll explain your sisters case."
She says so we follow her. Inside the room lay a pale looking Maddie, with a large reddish bruise covering the right side of her head. She is lay down, but is awake.
"Uncle Matt."
She says weakly and he smiles, hugging her.
"As I said, she will be fine. Give her about a week and she should be fully recovered. The bruising will go down after about 2 weeks."
She pauses to smile at Maddie then continues.
"Lydia Sherwood's case is more serious. As Maddison was sitting in the back of the car, she didn't receive a full impact of the crash. However, Lydia wasn't as fortunate. When we managed to reach her, she was unconscious and her breathing was extremely slow. By the time we got her to the hospital, her breathing and heart had stopped. We managed to restart her heart and get her hooked up to oxygen machines in order to stabilise her breathing. She is still reliant on said machines at the moment."
She explains and I nod, feeling kat place her hands on my shoulder. I glance at Matt who's eyes are also watering, and he looks just as distraught as me. He holds Maddie tightly, and squeezes Em's hand encouragingly as her eyes water too. "The injuries she sustained will also require a large amount of attention. She must have received a huge amount of impact to her head, because she is in a coma. At the moment we are unable to tell when, if at all, she will come out of her coma."
She says and I finally let out a sob. Kat hugs me tightly and i cry in to her shoulder.
"Obviously, we can only do so much in order to heal her. How long her coma lasts depends on her. However, if she does wake up, there will be a few more injuries we have to take care of."
"What do you mean?"
Matt speaks up, whipping his eyes. "Well, after some tests, we have come to the conclusion that she is suffering from temporary generalised bilateral paraplegia. Which I know sounds scary, but I will break it down. It basically means that when the car hit her, her legs and spine were crushed by an enormous amount of weight, causing damage to her spinal cord. This effects only the lower half of her body, so both her legs, feet and her lower back. However as I said, it appears to not be to sever, so we should be able to surgically repaire it." She explains and I nod.
"Can we see her?"
I ask and she nods. We follow her through the hospital and into another room, where my sister lays unconscious and bruised.
"Lydia."
I gasp and my tears begin to roll down my face.
"I'll leave you all alone."
Dr Lowe smiles and Em thanks her. Matt walks over to me, and hugs me tightly.
"She'll be okay."
He whispers into my ear.
"Will she?"
I reply and he frowns. He had stopped crying, but I could see the sadness in his eyes. He was just as broken as me. Maybe more.
