Virgil just stood there, frozen in shock by what all has just occured. He didn't know whether to be anxious...or...paranoid about this situation.
Deceit walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "He's gone now, Virgil... You're safe with us. I promise you..."
Virgil knew his friends he used to have were gone now... The Light Sides... Were not who he belonged with. These were his real friends... His family...
Virgil looked up at Deceit with glossy eyes, tears swelling in them, and hugged Deceit with such a force, it almost knocked the snake down.
Clearly, also shocked, Deceit stood there, not knowing whether to hug him back, but he did. He slowly embraced Virgil like a father would a son.
"I'm sorry I ever left you guys..." Virgil mumbled as tears fell down his cheeks.
"It's alright... You didn't know... Plus, we were bad friends... We're better now, I promise, Virge... We'll protect you," Deceit said quietly, patting his back when they let go of the hug. "C'mon, I'll show you to your room."
Deceit used to think of Virgil as a menace, for taking Zane away from him all those years ago... But he realized Virgil didn't know him and Zane dated back then... Depression can make people do crazy things... But now he sees Anxiety more like a son then anything now...
And he'd protect him from the Light Sides. No matter who he had to corrupt...
Wiping his eyes, Virgil followed Deceit once the hug dispersed, and they came to a black door with a V painted on it. "Go on. Get acquainted in your room, Virge. I'll be making dinner soon, if you're hungry," Deceit said, patting him on the back.
As Deceit left, Virgil grasped the door handle in his hand and turned it, opening the door to a dimly lit room. A room he remembered too vaguely.
The room of Paranoia.
He slowly entered the room, feeling the freezing cold air hit him, almost abruptly. He closed the door behind him and looked around the familiar place he spent most of his time as a Dark Side. Back then, he was abused...teased...bullied... But it's different now... The Darks... Changed.
If Virgil could change, so could they. And they did. The thought made a smile appear on the emo's face.
He opened the closet door and saw his old outfits. The color theme was black and white. No purple in sight. He took off his hoodie and say it on the bed. Then he grabbed a white hoodie with a webbed design on the sleeves. On one of the shoulders, a patch was sewn on. It was a black spider with purple eyes, and a storm cloud above it. A lightning bolt was on the other sleeve.
Virgil used to wear that hoodie every day.
The memories began flooding back into his memory as if a gate to them opened, throwing them at Virgil as fast as possible.
Then...
Then he remembered something...
This isn't his current room anymore...
Which means he can get corrupted...
His eyes widened as he practically ran over to the door, and tried to pry it open- it was locked. It wouldn't budge. "No.... No! SOMEONE, HELP- DECEIT, ISAAC, ANYONE!" He screamed, but it was no use. They didn't hear him.
Virgil felt an anxiety attack coming on as he began to corrupt- or transform...
His skin seemed to become even paler, if that was even possible, and his pupils dialated, his once brown eyes turning light gray. His brown and purple hair started to slowly turn white and black. The eyeshadow under his eyes went away, and his ripped black jeans ripped even more at the bottom. He felt a sharp pain coming from his teeth, and looked in the mirror in horror- he had fangs. Virgil looked around frantically and saw spider webs forming all over the room.
Looking down at his hands, he took notice of them shaking. His whole body was trembling in fear. Fear of himself, of what he is becoming once again.
Paranoia.
