Adora spent her first night back home telling Glimmer, Angella and Michah about Beast Island. The bars, the street vendors and hotel drownings. Angella opened her mouth to interject, but Adora held her hand up. She wasn't finished.

Weeks later, Adora crouched down on the dirt floor of a brand-new schoolhouse. The warm air swirled around them as the students begged her to finish the story.

Adora sang to them about Bow and his family, the song of watermelon dew. She told them about the vile taste of cheap vodka and the freedom of dance. The sharp sting of a needle and warm embrace of a lover. The kids were too young to see that Catra wasn't just a folktale, but Adora's lover.

Meanwhile, Catra was just beginning to decorate her new bedroom. A shiny red guitar hung above her bed, and her closet was filled with warm, clean clothes. The clothes actually fit her, now that she wasn't just skin and bones anymore.

After hearing Catra's tale through general gossip, Scorpia found Catra in the woods and adopted her as soon as possible. Scorpia's fiancee, Entrapta had moved in with them.

There was never a dull moment.

Adora and Catra sent emails back and forth, even though their timezones were completely different. Adora told Catra all kinds of stories, activities with her students, or weather disasters.

Every day, Catra dropped spare change in her dresser table , in hopes that one day, it would be enough for a plane ticket.

Entrapta and Scorpia were to be married in the spring, and Catra would be Scorpia's maid of honor. Adora and Micah were planning a well for fresh, running water.

As for the girl's memories of Beast Island, the kisses they shared?

They would always exist, somewhere in their wildest dreams.
