Paladin, Lady Athena, Jingks, and Alexon walk up to the front of the Royal palace.
When at the front, Paladin looks down the steps and instantly spots General Zelox - who spotted him as well. The two of them then proceed to move towards each other.
"General Zelox!"
"Paladin, Lord Inquisitor of the Inquisition. How are you?"
When the two of them were standing in front of each other, they proceeded to shake hands for a few moments, before returning their hands back to their sides.
"I've been good General Zelox, how about yourself?"
"I've been good, Paladin, how much progress has the Inquisition made?"
As General Zelox spoke, in the corner of his eye, Paladin could see the woman Lady Athena was angry about.
Ashley, wearing her normal outfit, quietly approached Paladin and General Zelox. She was so quiet that you couldn't hear her soft footsteps, and in order to know that she was there you had to look at her with your eyes.
"The Inquisition's made... good progress, all things considered."
"I heard about what happened with King Sewell, and many other Royal court members within the Capital City."
"Yes... The Inquisition was investigating what had happened, but we have decided to put it on halt until after the Legion of Death is defeated."
"My condolences, Paladin, as I heard that one of the lords named Lord Demeter, who was close to you, perished in the fighting."
Paladin nodded.
Paladin looked over at Ashley for one moment, trying to see what she was doing. In the one second he looked over at her, he could see her staring at him with a gleeful smile on her face.
"I thank you for the condolences, I was surprised as much as everyone else when I learned about the death of Lord Demeter. But at the moment, I'm trying to keep what happened in the back of my head. We have bigger problems to deal with at the moment."
"The Legion of Death..."
"Correct. Everything the Inquisition seeks for a future kingdom relies on us achieving victory against the Legion of Death, which isn't going to be an easy task for us to accomplish."
"The Inquisition managed to save Frostaria from the grips of the Legion of Death, so I guarantee that the Inquisition manages to save the Kingdom of Orion. Especially when we have a favor to return, and we'll be damned if we don't pay it back."
Paladin smirked.
"Thank you..."
Paladin then fully turned to Ashley, facing her and the situation around her head on.
"Hey Ashley, out of curiosity, where have you been? I was confident that you arrived back in the Capital City before anyone else, but no one managed to see you until now."
Ashley continued to smile gleefully as Paladin questioned her.
Paladin's question was a fair one, and in no way was he suspicious of her doing anything wrong.
"I was one of the first ones back in the Capital City..."
"So how did you protect yourself from the New Generation - who would've targeted you as the Princess of Frostaria?"
"I got lucky. When the New Generation attacked the Capital City, I was actually not in the Capital City and was dealing with some business far away from the city."
