Paladin, with Jingks, Archer, and Mordred behind him walked through the opened doors inside the Capital City dungeon tower, and walked down into the main lobby.
Paladin looked around the main lobby, and found it to be completely empty. No one was sitting down in the waiting area, no Dungeon clerks sitting behind the desks to coordinate entry into the dungeon, and there were no guards to be spotted anywhere. It was completely empty of life.
Paladin crossed his arms.
"The tower is desolate of all life, there's no Dungeon clerks, guards, or any adventures who would travel inside. I wonder what happened."
"Maybe it's closed?"
Mordred shook her head, then she turned to Jingks.
"Jingks, the dungeon is never closed - ever. Not even in a time of crisis, normally staying operational at all times."
"Maybe this is a unique situation then. The Legion of Death is a force never before seen in the continent of Orion, which could mean that due to the unique situation the kingdom decided to respond with one of their own."
Mordred folded her arms.
"I cannot say for sure that they wouldn't make such a move, but I honestly don't believe they would close it down for the Legion of Death. If anything, I would think they would keep it open since the dungeon can be somewhere safe for civilians to hide."
Paladin turned to Lady Athena.
"You really think that it would be safe for civilians?"
Lady Athena nodded.
"Outside of the fact you have creatures of different types appearing at different levels of the dungeon, it can be considered safe. The Capital City's dungeon is heavily fortified on the outside, able to withstand strong winds, explosions, and really anything thrown at it. Wouldn't you say that's a safe place to keep an entire city populace?"
Paladin placed his left hand on his chin.
With his way of thinking, he agreed that the Capital City's dungeon very well could be a safe place for those who cannot fight to hide. But only against a force not like the Legion of Death, who would have no issue breaching inside the dungeon and sending down their Legionnaires in masses. Slaughtering those who got in their way. One by one, two by two, it wouldn't matter.
Paladin took his hand off his chin.
"It's something to be considered. But I wouldn't consider it to be the best place to have everyone hide. Going forward. Chatting about the dungeon can be continued, but let's start heading towards the Athena mansion."
Archer, Mordred, and Jingks nodded their heads.
Exiting the Dungeon tower, the three Inquisitors and Mordred found the sun to be directly glaring down onto the front doors as they opened them. Holding his hand up to block out the sun, Paladin looked around the courtyards of the Dungeon tower. Seeing that there was still plenty of people outside in the courtyards of the Dungeon tower, despite not being able to go inside.
They walked through the courtyards and walked through the Capital City streets. Paladin couldn't help but narrow his eyes as passersby gave him sincere looks. Not a single passerby not giving him a look that signified their feelings.
The passersby were all concerned about the Capital City, all of them concerned about the fate of the Kingdom of Orion. A fate that would be determined by the Lord Inquisitor, and his six Inquisitors. The passersby recognized they had no control over such a fate, they were not significant enough to make a change in the Kingdom of Orion, to protect the kingdom from the ruthless Legion of Death. But the Lord Inquisitor was, therefore they could show their feelings to him and get their wants across. Physically but also verbally.
