Claressa POV
I have no clue why Eva is acting so strange but there is something serious going on and I need to get to the bottom of it. Colton help me carry her to her room after she fainted and I sat by her. She was having cold sweats so I covered her with a thin fleece blanket. I am really worried about my friends but I can't help her if she doesn't tell me what is wrong.
"How is she doing C?" Colton asks as he enters the room. We haven't told the twins nor have I told Eva that we have been seeing each other for the past two months. We are keeping a low profile from everyone to avoid judgement.
"She stopped shaking and the sweating has subsided. I am really worried for her Colt. She doesn't want to talk to me." I say as a sob escapes my mouth. It doesn't take Colton long before he has me in his arms rubbing my back. I am really starting to fall for him, I try not to but he is so sweet and caring that it is impossible not to.
"Shh it will be ok just give her time C she will come to you when she needs you."
"I know but I have this really bad feeling that this is big and it might involve me." I surge and look back at Eva. She looks so fragile she has lost lots of weight this last three weeks something is really wrong. I walk back to the kitchen to find something to drink and Colton follows me. That's when I notice the envelope on the table and decide to look inside.
I slowly pull the document out I as I see the first page and read it my heart stops. No I couldn't be she would do that. But maybe that is why she has been so distant these last few weeks. She was busy robbing me blind by taking clients money behind my back. I drop the envelope and run to Eva's room she will tell me now I need the truth. But before I can enter Colton blocks my way.
"Calm down C you will send her into a panic attack storming in there in this state." Colton says as he holds my shoulders.
"Let go of me Colt, she has some serious explaining to do and she will do it now. I heard her tell her dad that she wanted to go on a two month vacation. Where the hell would she get the money for that, we push every cent we have into our business and draw very little salaries and I know for a fact she doesn't take any charity from her father, she refuses his money. So can you explain that to me Colt can you? She wants to buy a new condo near the office do you know what those condos costs where will she get the money for that, even if she sells this apartment she will never cover the costs for a condo there. So do you see why I am so mad? My best friend is conning me Colt that breaks my heart!" I shout at him I think the whole apartment block heard. But Colton just stares at me it is as if everything I just said only makes sense to him now.
Eva POV
I can hear Claressa shouting outside my bedroom door and it sounds like she is mad at me. The accusation that she is making about me stealing money is bullshit she knows me better than that. She is the only one that knows me at all. I slowly get up from bed and move to the door as soon as I hear silence I open the door and see Claressa and Colton staring at each other. Neither of them noticed the door opening, so I clear my throat and they both jump in surprise. I looked at Claressa with no emotion on my face waiting for her to accuse me to my face, but she doesn't say a word she only stares at me.
"So Claressa I believe you have something that you would like to discuss with me." I say trying to keep my voice steady.
"E please relax give C time to calm down" Colton says but I ignore him.
"Come on C you are easy to accuse me behind my back. Here I am accuse me to my face why don't you!" I shout at her drawing the attention of everyone in our flat.
"Eva if you heard what I am accusing you of why not defend yourself?" Claressa asks with a fuming attitude.
"Claressa I don't need to defend myself if I don't need the money for crying out loud. And how in the world can I be stealing from you if you have control of the contracts and the bank accounts?" I ask her glaring at her.
