BEING EVA

Chapter 12

As I reach my apartment I notice that the lights is still on. This means that Claressa is waiting for me, and I am not in the mood to have this conversation now. I slowly make my way to the front door and take a deep breath, not sure in what mood my best friend is makes me nervous. Maybe the best thing is just to tell her what is going on. As I put the key in the door I make the decision to tell Claressa why we have to see the lawyers tomorrow, I mean it is only fear. As soon as I open the door I am greeted by a sight that I wish I never saw. Claressa and a man on the couch half naked, I mean come on seriously I also live her. I clear my throat and two pairs of eyes snap up. This is even more shocking!

"Colton?" this cant be she would have told me. 

"Hmmm.....Hi Eva" Colton stutters.

"Claressa care to explain?" I ask but she looks down and blushes.

"Hi Eva" is that all she is going to say?

"Hi Eva, is that all you are going to say? Colton do you care to explain?" I am not mad at all, but I need some answers. These two use to act indifferent so what has change?

"Well C and I have been seeing each other for awhile now, we kept a low profile because we knew that there would be a lot of questions and warning. But we enjoy each others company." awhile? and we never noticed they hid it really good.

"Oh...Ok..ay." I say and turn to go start my packing'

"E are you mad, please don't be mad. I didn't mean to hide anything from you it just happened. I am so sorry" Claressa pleads

"I am not mad at all C I am actually happy for you. The both you. If you enjoy each others company then that's the end of it."

"Thank you for understanding E. But Colton and I would like to speak with you if you have a minute?"

"Sure"

"Okay so you asked me to make an appointment with our lawyer which I did we need to meet them at nine sharp tomorrow morning"

"Great thanks for arranging that."

"So I was wondering if you could tell me what it is all about?"

"Would you like to discuss it in front of Colton?" I make her squirm a bit for keeping me in the dark about their relationship.

"Yeah why not I will tell him anyway afterwards" Okay so they really are into each other?

"Okay, so the meeting is to make a change in our partnership as with immediate effect tomorrow." I see Claressa pale and Colton looks confused. All my friend know how much I love my company.

"E what are you saying are you please don't, please don't kick me out." I feel really bad now so to lighten the mood I force a giggle

""Oh C stop worrying this is all in your favor as from tomorrow around ten you will be the sole owner of Larena Event Management." I say with a wide smile on my face.

"Wait a minute. Why would you do something like that you love that company as much as I do so why would you just give me your half?"

"Because i don't need it anymore. I still love that company and I will always be there to help you C it's just I need time. My life has been a real roller coaster this past six weeks I .........I need to regroup." I say as I lower my head and start to turn to move to my room. I really need to get away here. Maybe I can run away I have enough money to start over change my identity maybe buy an island and only do weddings for celebrities. 

"E please don't leave like this, we all love you and we know you need space but we want to help you please let us help you." Colton has always been like a brother to me but my heart is empty and my soul is black I have no reason to go on here. It is better for me to move on and start over.
