Holy shit. Oh my god. My knees start trembling and I slowly drop to the floor. My eyes dart to each pregnancy test still clutched tightly in my hand. Pregnant. Pregnant. Pregnant. Body, you just had to betray me, didn't you? I place my hand on my stomach as I try to wrap my head around it. I currently have a baby growing inside of me, my baby. I'm going to become a parent again. My eyes start watering at the thought that I'll have another precious child in the next couple of months.
"Char, are you okay? You've been in there for a while," Cleo questions, knocking on the door.
"I'll be out in a couple of minutes," I reply, my voice cracking a bit. I get up, placing the tests on the toilet seat as I splash some water on my face. I have to tell Jax. There's no way I can hide it from him when this baby is just as much his. Not to mention Lorenzo, oh Lorenzo finding out I'm pregnant would give him another thing to hold over Jax's head beside's me and Wren. I tuck the pregnancy tests in the waistband of my pyjamas and walk back out to the kitchen. Cleo looks at me in anticipation and I take out a test holding it out to her.
"How would you like to be called Aunt Cleo again?" I ask her and her body goes still for a moment, next thing I know she jumps up and grabs the test from my outstretched hand, eyes wide in excitement.
"Char! Oh my god! This is so exciting," she squeals, wrapping me up in a tight hug.
"I know, thank you, Cleo," I say, feeling misty-eyed again. "It's funny how this is the first day I'm getting sick and the first thing you make me do is to take a pregnancy test."
"It's motherly instincts, I just knew it," she replies, waving her hand nonchalantly.
"Uh-huh, motherly instincts. What would you have said if it came back negative?" I ask, rolling my eyes.
"Sorry it didn't work out?" she replies, shrugging her shoulders.
"Of course you would," I say with a sigh.
"You're telling Jax right?" she questions as we move back to the kitchen.
"Of course. This is not only my baby but it's also his too. It's just a matter of figuring out how to tell him," I say. "I don't want it to be like we're talking and then just drop it like, by the way, I'm pregnant with your child. Congrats."
"Yeah, that'd be a bitch move," she agrees.
"I know, I'll tell him now. I'm pretty sure he's awake, probably just lazing in bed and I won't have to do anything over the top," I tell her.
"You're not going to tell him somewhere private, like taking him out on a date?" she questions in confusion. "Somewhere maybe fancy?"
"Honestly, I'd rather not wait and I don't want to have to do something so elaborate, it's not my style," I explain with a shrug.
"That's true, good luck girl," she tells me. "Oh, I don't think I need to remind you but I will, there are kids that will be waking up soon. Don't go having your own celebration," she taunts and gives me a wink.
"As if I don't know that already Cleo," I huff before turning to walk out of the kitchen. I walk back to the guest bedroom and find Jax leaning against the headboard checking something on his phone. He glances up as I close the door behind me and lifts the blanket that's covering his legs as I approach the bed. I move so I'm situated in between his legs, resting against his chest. He settles the blanket back over us and then cages me within his arms.
"You're not going for breakfast?" I question, closing my eyes in relaxation.
"Not hungry, why'd you come back here?" he questions as he rubs my back.
