I think I might just die of exhaustion. Why the bloody hell did I even sign up for this damn football camp? I take a short break, resting my palms on my knees as I try to catch my breath. I should have just stayed home with Jo today, spend the entire day on my bed. But no. I just had to get myself talked into coming here.

"Oi, FT! Come on man, we ain't got all day," Jack shouts from across the field.

Taking a deep breath, I run back to join them doing drills but not before looking at my watch. Just two more hours of this fucking torture and I'll be home to my girl. I can survive this.

I'm a bit surprised when Felix asks me if he could hang out at my place, especially after I decline Ollie's invitation to get some drinks with our mates after the camp. Thinking nothing about it, I agree and after we're showered, we start making our way back to my flat.

"Bro, can I talk to you about something?" He asks tentatively.

By the nervous look on his face, I could already tell what he wants to say but I decide to fuck with him still. "Sure, what about man?" He scratches the back of his neck, casting his head down and taking deep breaths. I fight the urge to laugh at how flustered he looks. Oh, this is going to be good. "Any minute now, brother," I say impatiently.

"It's about... M-mercy," he stutters, choking on his tongue and I stifle my laughter at how red his face has now turned.

"What about my little sister, Felix?"

"Man, first of all... I want you to know that I respect you and our friendship. You're like a brother to me, you know that," he rushes to say.

"I get that man. You're like my brother too. You're like a brother to us-me, Titan and... Mercy," I say in all seriousness. I watch as his eyes widen and subtly shakes his head at my mention of Mercy.

"Oh fuck it," he groans, closing his eyes before opening it, a new wave of determination flashing through them. "I like Mercy, FT. Like, really like her. Not as a sister or a friend. I'm telling you this because I respect you and I don't want you to think I'm biting you in the ass by making a move on your sister. I respect her, Hero. So much," he says, his tone full of certainty. A declaration.

I stare at him with a neutral expression. "And what makes you think I'd allow you to add Mercy to the long list of your flings, Felix?"

"Long list of flings?" He scoffs before straightening his posture. He stands taller, his eyes almost levelling with mine. "I'd never do that to Mercy, Hero. Yeah, I've had some shitty past relationships and lack thereof but Mercy's different. I'm serious about her. I like her. I think I might even be in lo-,"

"Okay that's enough!" I cut him off with a chuckle. He stares at me, his mouth agape. "I'm just shitting you man. I already know you like her and that she likes you, too. I'm not gonna get in your way, Felix. And I trust you enough to know you won't play my sister." I pat his shoulder before squeezing it in assurance and I could feel him instantly relax, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"You're such an ass," he barks before laughing. He glances down at his watch, muttering a curse under his breath. "We should hurry up, man."

"Why? My flat's ain't going anywhere," I shrug.

"Just trust me," he pulls me along and we walk faster as I see my building up ahead.

When we get to my flat, I head straight to my room as Felix grabs something to drink in the kitchen. I find Josephine fumbling with her earrings as I enter the room. I look her up and down. Why is she so dressed up? She's wearing a cream fit and flare dress with thin straps and nude pumps. Her already beautiful face has been enhanced by adding light makeup with a deep red shade on her lips. She looks stunning as always.
