It's been hectic the past two days since I came home, what with all the planning and executing for Katherine's and Jeremiah's engagement party tonight. So busy that I barely even have the time to check on my phone if Hero has called or texted. He's constantly updating me on his whereabouts which I deeply appreciate considering the paranoia that's easily creeping into me every time I'm reminded of the last time we were apart.

I really need to get a grip on myself.

I'm one hundred percent sure Hero's not going to do anything stupid while I'm away. This is just some sick joke my mind keeps playing on me. I quickly type in a text for him before I start getting ready for the party.

To Hero: Getting ready for the party, sucks you won't be here to join us babe but still looking forward for when you're finally done there. I'll see you soon, love. XO

Chucking my phone on to my bed, I take a long relaxing bath before drying my hair. I transfer to Katherine's room so we can get ready together. Jeremiah's getting ready in the guest room with some of his friends who just arrived from the US and I could hear their playful banters echoing through the hallways. Katherine and I do each other's hair while doing our makeup on our own. She goes for the ethereal look with lots of highlights on her face and glitters on her eyes with barely a hint of soft pink on her lips. It goes perfectly with her grecian goddess gown.

"You look amazing Kath," I gush as she twirls playfully in front of her full-length mirror.

"Really? You don't think I'm overdoing it with this grecian look?" She asks but I could tell she loves the way she looks by the sparkling of her eyes as she scans herself on the mirror.

"I think you look perfect for the occasion. Jeremiah's going to lose his shit when he sees you later," I assure her with a giggle.

"That's the plan," she winks at me before we burst out into laughter. When we finally calm down, she looks me up and down, appreciation evident on her smiling face. "You're beautiful sis. Like the badass bitch you've always been but a better version. Badass bitch two point oh."

Whereas Katherine's look is ethereal, I, on the other hand, go for heavier eye makeup with bare lips, only applying a lightly tinted lip balm. Going back and forth on my outfit choices, I finally decide on a white loose-fitting dress pants with a matching oversized blazer, while wearing it open to show off my black satin bralette underneath. Finishing the the whole edgy look with some black stud earrings and black stilettos.

"Yeah, yeah. Too bad the man I was hoping to lose his shit when he sees me won't be here tonight," I roll my eyes at her compliment but feel my cheeks heating up. No matter how bad Katherine and mine's relationship as sisters were in the past, I can't deny that there was always a part of me that sought for her approval as my big sister. In a way, I wanted to hear her say that I was doing a good job or that I was beautiful just like her. It may have taken us years to arrive to this place in our relationship, it feels absolutely fucking amazing.

"You can always recreate the whole look when he gets here... in the privacy of your room," she winks at me again, a conspiratorial grin breaking across her lovely face.

"What is it with you and winking tonight? Seriously, is there something wrong with your eyes? You should probably have that checked Kath," I tease her.

"Shut up!" She throws a pillow at me which I dodge with a laugh.

"Look at you, Kath. Who knew Katherine Langford has a naughty side to her. I'll have to thank Jeremiah for loosening you up," I smirk and again she throws me another pillow as we continue to banter and laugh with each other until mum finally knocks on the door and tells us that it's almost time for the guests to arrive.
