Stony (They're in college)

Steve walked off the elevator and headed toward the balcony. It was his favorite spot in the tower, besides his and Tony's room. In fact, anywhere with tony was a favorite spot. He loved the man he married, and nothing was going to change that.

As Steve walked on the balcony he noticed a table set for two, an unlit candle and a rose on the table. Steve walked over to the table, and smelt the rose. the whole seen made him smile. "I didn't know when you were going to be home," Steve turned around to see Tony standing in the doorway holding two plates, "i know you said you were going to get a bite after leaving the apartment. I, just," tony walked over and set the food down. Tony picked up the rose then handed it to Steve then said, "is this to much?" Steve shook his head then smiled, "it's perfect, did you cook all this?" Tony nodded his head as the two sat down.
Steve looked at all the food then smiled at his husband, "thank you, and just so you know. I didn't eat. I didn't want to wait, I couldn't wait." Tony let out a small laugh, "well eat up soldier. Were flying down to disney world tomorrow." Steve nodded his head, "I'd like to talk about thanks giving. I wanted to talk to you about bringing Bucky around. We have a few months, please think about it. He's my brother. Beside you and the kids, well he the only family I've got. I just got him back. all I'm asking you to do us think about it."
Tony took a few bites if food then stood up and left. Steve went after tony. He picked tony up to prevent him from walking away. "Put me down Steve." Steve didn't say a word as he walks towards their room.

/--- THEIR ROOM ---\

Steve placed tony on their bed, "I said 2 days minimum," Steve started to undo his belt and button to his jeans, "the kids are asleep and Lily's gone home by now. Tony I need you," Steve walked backward into the bathroom then rounded the corner. Tony smiled when he heard the shower start then saw Steve dangle his shirt out, "don't keep me waiting," Steve dropped his shirt then went and got into the shower.

Tony said, "You know me to well," as he got up, and quickly got undressed to join Steve.

--- DAYS LATER ---
The four just returned from disney world. Steve asked for Peter to have a big birthday, so tony gave him one. Peter turned 5 in one of the most magical places on earth. Steve freaked out when he found out Tony wanted Thor to take their son to Asgard. Who wouldn't, a five year old in Asgard would be bad news, especially since he had powers.

Steve walked into the kitchen to see Lily, "morning," Steve looked at her with a cheerful smile. Lily looked at him, "I'm making breakfast, did you want anything?" Steve nodded his head, "I wanted to say thank you. You've been here for my family. I missed so much time and to be honest, in a bit envious of you," lily got wide eyed, "you were the one there for peters first steps, for Chloe's first word. It's time I can't get back." lily turned off the fire to the stove then looked at Steve, "what are you saying?" Steve closed his eyes, "I can't be him and I can't be me at the same time, it anymore anyway. I'm missing out on the most important things of my life. There frowning up right before my eyes and I'm not even here to celebrate it with them." Lily went and stood by steve, "then quit. There's no more SHIELD. Just quit." Steve looked at lily, "I can't. The world needs me."
"Your family needs you more." Steve took a deep breath as Lily looked out I to the living area, "I know, believe me I know, but the one thing you need to remember is HYDRA. they'll stop at nothing. I have to protect them, all of them. Lily?" She looked at Steve, "ya?" He smiled then said, "thanks. I'll be back in a few hours," he left before lily could say another word.

--- at a park ---
Steve sat down at a bench. He needed to clear his head, prioritize. Who was he kidding, the world needed captain america, they needed a hero. If he gave it up then he'd be worrying about tony, but if he didn't he'd miss his kids grow up, he'd miss getting to be a father to his little girl, Chloe.

He sat there thinking about that beautiful girl he met in the war. He needed a friend and wished that beautiful girl was still around. What would he say to get even if they did meet again. He fell in love with the brunette before everything went to hell. Even if they did meet, even if that once in a blue moon opportunity came up, what would he do?"

WEEKS LATER
1 WEEK BEFORE THANKSGIVING

Tony left the tower and headed to the apartment where Bucky was staying. He was going to extend an invite for thanksgiving.

--- AT APARTMENT ---

bucky got out of the shower when he heard a knock at the door. he quickly wrapped his eowe around himself then hollered out, "coming," as he hurried to the door. he was shocked to find tony standing in the hallway, "Stark?" bucky stepped out of the way to let tony walk in, "what do i owe the pleasure?"

tony got the invatation from his breast pocket, "your brother told me he wanted to introduce you to our children. He thought it would be best if i got to know you first. I love your brother james, i want him to be happy. I owe him a great deal, and that not because were married." tony handed james the invite, "thank you stark. i know this isnt easy for you," tony nodded his head, "even after everything," bucky looked down at the invite and smiled, " its nice to know that he still thinks of me as his brother," bucky looked back up to tony. he was about to say something when tony spoke up, "dont mistake this for kindness. i dont care who you are, my family comes first. i will kill you if i have to."

bucky nodded his head, "i wouldnt expect anything else from the great Tony Stark. thank you." tony turned around and placed his hand on the door when his phone rang.

---START PHONE CALL---

"go for tony."

peper was on the other end of the phone, "steve's missing."

tonys tone changed, "what do you mean he's missing," bucky left.

peper continued, "thats just it. lily found the place empty. the kids were with me and happy. There were no letters, no packed luggage, nothing. He's gone."

"i'll be there in 20 minutes."

peper said, "ok."

"and peper?"

"yes?"

"thanks," tony hung up the phone then turned around to see bucky fully clothed with weapons in hand, "you heard?" bucky nodded his head, "good, lets go."
